HENthusiastic
Bumble the rescue chicken died today. She was a lovely hen. WHen she first came to us we were a little worried about whether we could warm to her. She was the least friendly and her huge comb made her look odd..... But we came to love her sooo much. And she got soooo tame. She even climbed onto my partners lap one time. She looked beautiful to us. She was ill for a week and a bit. The vet tried to make her better, but when we took her back today we were told it was kindest to let her go, as she was loosing weight fast and not getting any better. She had a lovely last meal of meal worms, cherry tomatoes, tuna, cucumber and mushrooms. I'm so upset. I dont regret having her and loving her though. She learnt about different foods, she found out what grass and wind and rain felt like. She learned that she loved the sun. We will miss her. But we are glad she had a good end to her life. Nature Chick
We must comfort ourselves that any amount of time we have our girls is precious and how lovely for her to have spent her retirement with such a loving person. I miss my Blondie Lady but I know that she had two happy years of treats and sunbathing. x
