Guest
he's been offered the job (warehouse manager) but they told him at the interview he'd be doing rolling shifts of 2-10 and 6-2 (which he was doing in his previous job) with the odd shift of nights in between. Now they've offered him the job on permanent nights for 6-12 months and it could be longer than that! It's all being done via an agency so the agency woman is going back to the company to see if there is any room for negotiation with the shifts but if not, he thinks he'll turn it down. He's got the weekend to think it over. It's a big disappointment really as if they've offered him the shifts they told him he'd be on at the interview, he would have taken it. He's got an interview for something else in a cple of weeks so fingers x'd!
Joojoo
What a shame never mind it's all good experience and he must be feeling great to be offered the job so well done Ian
Ain't Nobody Here
What a shame . Congratulations to him on getting the job hough tbut how unfair that the terms aren't what he was told . Difficult decision - if it really is only for 6 months, might he consider it?
chelsea
he must have made an impression. I would definitely consider it over the weekend though. My hubby works nights and although its a pain in the bum sometimes our chooks and dog have him home all day. could be good to do it in the meantime whilst looking for something else? Guest
he's definitely thinking about it but it's put the seed of doubt in his mind about how honest the company actually are
chickenlass
What pity about the hours. ...Glad he has been offered the position though. Wonder if it might be worth him taking the job and still looking for something else? [At least he would be at home during the day for other interviews and they say it's always easier to get a job if your already working for some reason lol ] I'm sure he'll make the right decision anyhow what ever he decides! PS love that picture of you and Maude having a little snooze...how sweet she likes to be cuddled like that.
Guest
Hi Leann, yeah we've already had that exact same discussion (great minds think alike ) Maudie is very sweet, all my girls have their cute little foibles but I do love that she likes to snuggle with me

superjules
Well done him for getting offered the job. 6 months of permanent nights sounds depressing though. What's he decided?

Guest
They've come back to say he can do the hours he wants with the "occasional" night shift. He's accepted the job provisionally, just waiting for the offer letter/contract. All being well, he starts on the 25th August. A big weight off our minds. I just hope he likes the job now
