But I've had an idea

 

dont know if it will work, or how it would work, but

 

as we do the super book club...

 

How about we do a christmas Knit along and swap at the end as presents for each other?

 

it would have to be simple (like a scarf or something) with as detailed a pattern as you would like to do (I know that some are super knitters and some are new knitters - was that diplomatic enough ) (I would be willing to "cast on" if anyone wanted to join in and couldnt cast on )

 

anyone interested?

Oooh I think that sounds a fab idea! I think I'd need between now and Christmas to make a scarf! Do we all have to make scarves, I get bored making them but have made felted skirts and bags etc!

and I will collect names and addresses at the beginning of December.

then forward the name and address to the "santa".

 

that way, no one knows who they are making for or who is making for them.

I'm being dim about Cathy's 'willing to cast on' comment. Cathy, do you mean you will physically cast on and off so someone can do the knitting stitches in the middle (it took me ages to learn to cast on and off for knitting!), or was it a metaphor for 'casting on' names of participants into a list?

the reference to the casting on was for Emma (the herd) who is great at knitting but unfortunately the casting on and off is a little "untaught"

They are rubber stamps by Pennyblack, I have quite a few chicken ones (surprise surprise ) and thought I could make a batch of cards around these.....
