laurmurf
I swore I'd never do it.... but then I got the girls and their cube. This forum introduced the idea of crocs as chicken accesory. I too refused to consider full price so got a real pair cheap off ebay and can now confess that i TOO HAVE FALLEN! They are simply fab at rinsing under the tap when covered with chicken poo. Omlet should sell a matching pair of crocs with each eglu/cube as an essential component of chicken equipment!
deejmum
My son call his red crocs his 'chicken shoes'. He always wears them when we go out to the chicken area. I have to admit that I have a love hate relationship with my (4 pairs ) of crocs. I hate the way they look but I adore the way they feel. They are soo handy to slip on to go outside, they are not damaged or stained by water. The cockerel is seriously attracted to my yellow ones which can be slightly annoying. I know that when I go out in them some people are thinking yuk! But somehow that doesn't stop me Maybe I will name my 5 unnamed chooks after various croc types! superjules
Hi, my name's Jules and it's been 8 months, 3 weeks and 2 days since my last crocs purchase. I thought I liked them, they seduced me with the range of colours and styles but I realise now that they are just rubber shoes that wear really quickly, leaving you with footwear that is potentially very dangerous in wet weather. I don't believe anything with as bendy a sole can be good for your feet/posture/back. This summer, I've been mostly wearing..........Birkenstocks - like I used to in my pre-croc days. I've just ordered a pair of Hunter wellies to replace my Georgies - when they arrive all my crocs demons are exorcised. Sorry Crocs fans! (And Doors fans!) Tried to run, Tried to hide, Break on through to the other (non-crocs) side!
Angels4
I always thought I was a "croc hater", until I went shopping with my sister. I had just recieved my orange eglu and I was looking for a pair of shoes that I could muck about in pooh and leave out on the back porch without fearing they would get ruined because of the rain. I found a pair of "muck" brand boots ($75.00) and thought they were perfect. When I caught up with my sister she was looking at crocs for her boyfriend (who is a chef) and I just started laughing "they are hideous" was all I could repeat over and over. My sister who had finally had enough, threw a pair on the floor and told me to try them on (or I would be walking home). Needless to say I tried them on, and I have to say, they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever had on. I can leave them out when it's pouring, and just slip my foot in and out when needed. Never thought it would happen. Oh and BTW..What color do you think I got?
Lesley
That would be Orange then Mark?? I also have a love/hate relationship with my Crocs. I started with Caymans and loved how they felt. I can't agree that they are bad for your back as my back has been much better since I started wearing Crocs. I was still walking with a stick when I first bought them and although Crocs are loose, they were the one thing that gave me the confidence to walk without the stick. I've since had to learn to walk without limping and Crocs are great for that. I've worn Athens flip-flops all summer and they look much nicer than Caymans...... I don't want to change back to Caymans .....and, another thing........all you Crocs Haters (the ones who haven't even tried any on ) remind me so much of the Eglu Haters on other forums.......the ones who 'hate' the Eglu, call it expensive rubbish........but have never tried one
lisa33
But why would I want to wear something that I think looks horrible ? I don't buy fashionable clothes as I think most fashion stuff is hideous too and a waste of money. Same feeling for crocs & fake crocs!! Sorry just not my thing. Cinnamon
Sure - each to their own & all that. Everyone has different taste & there is no reason why anyone would wear something they think is nasty. You wouldn't get me in a sequinned boob-tube for example (well, not without several glasses of wine & a shoe horn )

Phonix
I have tried them (my mums) and I just hate the feel of the material! Im fussy over feet as I hate them soo much (used to be a massive phobia!!) Also im not a fan of how they look BUT i did try on my mums and still hated them lol xXx

missuscluck
The overpriced point made is correct. My friend went to Nantwich show a few weeks ago which was a wash out. She was there later on in the day and the guy who was selling crocs in the craft tent was selling them off for a tenner. They are definatly proper crocs. What does that tell you about the profit margin???!! Ever feel you are being conned??! (says she shuffling round the house in Crocs!) The Dogmother
That would be Orange then Mark?? That would be correct Lesley! The BEST colour I never wanted them until I got a pair for Rosie (perfect for little square feet), I tried hers on and was smitten.. I now have 4 pairs of my own (all childrens' size, so cheaper) and love them to bits, especially my black mammoths, which I wear around the house. I even took a pair into hospital with me 'cos I knew that I could put them straight in the washing machine when I got back. Sarah the image of you struggling to get your impressive boobage into a sequinned boob tube has really made me giggle. Do you remember the 'Grease' fashion in the 70s, just after the movie came out? All those lycra legging and boob tubes? Sooo unflattering!
Ana's flock
They are comfy - I like the proper ones as I can't stand the feeling of plastic shoes - they are soft on the feet, with plenty of room to spread my 'toesies' easy to walk on, and have lovely colours. I wouldn't wear them for an special dinner at a posh restaurant or a sales meeting though... However, for messing about around the house, garden, or even nipping in for a 'barbie' at a good friend's house (weather permitting... ) they are unbeatable! And today it's freezing in my office/conservatory I'm wearing them with socks and a woolly cardigan, but everything does colour co-ordinate... May my feet be comfy and let the fashionistas judge to their hearts' content! Ana ...and yes, they are purple/lilac too
Ain't Nobody Here
Tried to run, Tried to hide, Break on through to the other (non-crocs) side! You come on over to our side . I'll look after you . I hate sandals generally and live in trainers and socks (don't like draughty feet or shoes that require effort to keep them on). I don't like the look of Crocs much and can't understand the attraction of the holes . It's almost always raining in Edinburgh so I'd either get wet feet or soggy socks . Blackrocksrock
Best of all are the pair at the back door which get used only for the hen run/ free range part - hen poo can be washed off and they are so so easy to clean. I find them cold and also wear socks with them now.
Richard T
.....and, another thing........all you Crocs Haters (the ones who haven't even tried any on ) I don't like the look of them and wouldn't want a pair so why would I want to try them on? I've always been able to find footwear that's comfortable and that I like the look of.
Omletina Kyckling
I was with the Crocs haters as I didn't like the look of the big, clumpy ones. Since I developed arthritis I often have terrible pain in my feet and knees and last summer got to the stage where walking was so bad that I couldn't go out. So I tried a pair of Mary Janes, which are cuter and not so clumpy as the Cayman style. They are like walking on air and solved all my pain problems - I didn't enjoy last winter as I couldn't wear them due to the holes and my joints were sore again, but I bought a pair of Troikas which have suede trim on them and all was well again. I wear them mainly for my health but I quite like the Mary Janes, not sure I'd wear the clumpier ones though (although fine for the garden/chicken area!) I do agree with comments about the price though as the soles do wear out, but for me, I'm willing to pay that as they make such a big difference to my quality of life!! Ain't Nobody Here
I keep a pair of old slip on slippers (bought for 50p when buying another pair of shoes!) at the back door. Me & YS use them and even ES crams his feet into them to go chicken wrangling - he's size 11 and I'm size 6 . No holes so no wet feet . ClaireG
Ive got 3 pairs, two caymens and an athens. I find them so practical and comfortable. I also suffer from arthritis and have found theyve helped my back and knees.

Mutrix Farmers
I have friends that wear them all year round, which I thought was strange until I got some too! I wore them camping and although I took trainers for the cool evenings, I found the crocs had warmed up nicely by then and I didn't need to change. I don't often wear them out except to Tesco or if I'm picking up Son. Didn't think I would be converted - working on OH now (he borrows Son's when he thinks I'm not looking!!) Cinnamon
I wear them all year round. Flip Flops in high summer (ha,ha!), or on holiday Normal Beaches or Caymans during the day in the house & for shopping. I wear them with socks when its cold. You can't tell as I wear my jeans long & bootcut, & I wear Crocs as clogs, rather than with the heel strap. I also have some wonderful Mammoths for the winter, & unless its raining really hard you don't get soggy feet. They come in a gorgeous Berry shade which I am hankering after for this winter - nice & cheerful. I must have around 15 pairs of Crocs in different shapes, forms & colours, & thats not including the families pairs
