Please light a candle and say a prayer

Recommended Posts

I will be thinking of you today Angels4 and lighting a candle for all that were lost and the people left behind.

It is such a small world when tragedy happens and we are all affected in some way.

My daughter works in finance and her company were on the phone to the tower when it was hit and the lines went down.

Her work colleages husband was working in the tower and was unfortunately lost.

Thinking of you

Our thoughts will be with all affected by the events that day, some were obviously more affected than others but everyone can remember the horror of that day vividly :( .

It is also a day of mixed emotions for our family, because my brother died in an accident on that day in 1975 when he was 5 and I was 8. My Mum has found the 11th of September even harder to cope with since 2001. I also had a school friend whose birthday is today I always found it a bit odd trying to be upbeat for her on her birthday :(

It's like the Kennedy assassination; everyone remembers where they were when they heard about it.

That's true...we were doing a house viewing of the house we've now bought back and the man's mobile kept ringing and ringing, he kept refusing the calls...eventually he answered and told us what had been happening. He worked for one of the big London newspapers and they had to leave straight away. I turned the TV on and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I think people's perceptions of life really changed that day. New boundaries were set, and you wouldn't have believed it prior to that day - if there'd been a film made of that story you wouldn't have believed it.

I shall go light a candle now.

At the time someone said to me...'if they made a movie out of that, no-one would believe it'

I was in a meeting at the time and came out to one of my collleagues telling me that there'd been a plane fly into the Trade Towers (Sky news), then we were all in the board room watching the news on the big video screen when the 2nd plane hit. I just drove home to hug my baby

I was driving to school to pick up my girls when I heard.

I honestly thought it had been a freak accident & a small private plane had hit the tower.

Then, when I got there, the whole terrible tragedy sort of unfolded as another mum turned up & told us what had happened since.....

As we are near to London & a short commute for city workers,a few of them had husbands, friends, colleagues or brothers working in NY at the time.

It was the worst of days.

Prays for everyone affected by that terrrible day.

I was at home having lunch with my cousin, my husband phoned and told me about the first tower. We switched on the television and just watched in shock.

We live on a flight path into London and I can remember laying in bed panicking that a plane would come down on us. It was an absolutely awful time.

"Ooops, word censored!"ody will ever forget that day.

What can you say about such a terrible loss of life , such a sad event so sorry for all who have lost loved ones. My son has just come downstairs he was 10 months old and we were in the garden when my brother rang to tell me the dreadful news. Thoughts with everyone.
