Tomorrow is the anniversary of the day that changed my life forever. Please light a candle and say a prayer for all those lost during the terrorist attack at New Yorks World Trade Center.

My nephew was in NY with friends celebrating their 21st birthdays at that time....and it actually was his birthday on 11th.

 

The relief when we heard that the were OK was immeasurable.

me neither, I remember it very well. I work in aviation and our airline has a minutes silence on 9/11. I was working the day it happened.

This has been made even more important for me recently as the friend I was working closely with at the time and with whom I remember the day each year.. was tragically murdered 2 weeks ago and I'm struggling to come to terms with the event.

 

My thoughts are with you and everyone who lost loved ones on this terrible day.

My thoughts are with you Angels4. My parents lived in NYC for years and I feel very connected to it and to all the people affected that day.

 

I sat watching the news that day with my 8 day old son in my arms, wondering what kind of a world I had bought children into

I would say the world is a safer place, plane etc are now much more secure.

 

It was a terrible tragedy, never to be forgotten.

I count my blessing every day, given that my brother was due to meet work colleagues in the North Tower on the morning of September 11th. Thankfully, they had worked out the day before that business was so much easier to discuss over a round of golf, so had headed out for the day instead. Unfortunately, both had turned their phones off, for fear of being caught playing hooky, and it took several hours to ascertain my brothers where-abouts.
