The Weather Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

Here in Preesall near Blackpool at 5am this morning when I got up to put the light on in the Henian Castle and let the girls out it was a wall of stars in the sky no cloud in sight.

Any one else up at that time?

Best regards

Ian

How has the weather been like around the rest of the UK?

Best regards

Hi Everyone

Here in Preesall near Blackpool. We have had a sharp frost it looks like snow but it is not.

All the water containers were frozen but are now clear and fresh water inside.

Just made a hot mixture mash so that the girls have something warm inside them.

Have made an extra one for the bird table as yesterday my better half found a couple of birds using the Henian Castle for a sauce of food they were getting the mash that had spilt on the floor as food for them selves.

So thought they needed some as well.

How is the rest of the UK in this Winters Day, hope everyone os OK.

Best regards

Here in Buckhurst Hill just outside London there's been a heavy frost - as Ian says, as white as if it had snowed.

Just bracing myself to dash up the garden and defrost the glug. Fleece, waterproof, gloves and maybe today I'll put my walking trousers on top of the jammies!

-4 here this morning when I went to let the girls out - they had porrige this morning mixed with pellets and grapes and then a top up with some more yummy pellet mash this evening when I shut them in. The temperature is now lurking at around zero ish and I am nice and warm inside - rayburn is belting out heat in the kitchen and I am sat in my jamas eating chocolate inthe living room - well it is monday morning tomorrow after all!

Been trying to drizzle all day but it's now freezing.

First snow fell Tuesday, froze then snowed again Thursday.

Car was stuck in the drive for two days

Chooks really unhappy with the snow which is now packed hard.

It's miserable with no sign of a thaw in the hamlet though Kendal is clear.

Driving down to London on Thursday and the forecast varies from light rain, through heavy rain to heavy snow ....sigh!!!! :(:(

Can't wait for Christmas, DH has 10 days off and we can chill and I won't care then if we get snowed in :wink::wink:

It has been beautifully sunny all weekend, but terribly cold - down to -5 at night, thick, thick frost this morning, but so pretty that I didn't mind the cold too much. Froze my fingers and toes off in the garden, cleaning out the chooks and bunnies.

Just went out with the pup for her bedtime comfort stop and it looks to be clouding over :? snow perhaps?

It has been absolutely glorious here. Suny all day and very crisp.

I fettled the run and cube and the Eglu...their last major titivation before Christmas....just a bit of light dusting for a while I'm afraid.

I was working in a tee shirt at one point , it was so warm.
