Mrs Webmuppet
I've just been out to shut the chickens in their coop for the night and their water container was already freezing up. Another chilly night in not so sunny Suffolk.
Blackrocksrock
we have had no frost/snow to-day and its cold and windy at 5degrees and we had a lot of rain quite heavy showers but not as bad as the frost.
Lesley
My weather station was playing up. I've been out all afternoon cleaning Eglus and no way is it +4 outside I've taken it all apart.......
Trish
-2 to -3 here all day despite what the weather reports keep telling me. They reckon +8 tomorrow but I can't see a 10 degree increase in temperature happening over night
Ain't Nobody Here
It's been mild (like just above freezing ) for a week or so here but the weather's turned tonight - lashing rain, howling winds and really cold .
Old Speckled Hen
Overcast today. Temperature has been 3 or 4 but dropped to 2.2 this evening. The wind's picked up and gales are expected overnight so I guess that means rain as well.
abwsco
Thick frost on the cars last night and this morning plus a bitter wind. I've struggled to keep warm today and was frozen on every visit to the girls.
Seagazer
It was so bitter when I took Cookie out to the park this afternoon. I wish I'd had a hat on.
Ardene5
Hi Everyone Someone local to us said for last night highs of plus 5 for the coast areas so we did not cover the cars and this morning they were covered in heavy frost. The Volvo showed minus 7 degrees. The rest of the day the temp has hovered a round freezing it was so bad that the local football match in The Championship was called off with a frozen pitch. It is still cold now. how has it been for you today, wherever in the world you live? Best regards for 2009. Ian & Valerie
Snowy
The little weather report thingy on my desktop says it's been 3 degrees here today. When we went out in the car this morning it was -3c! The glugs have all frozen solid again. I went to pull some parsnips out of the veg bed and they are frozen into the ground. Even the compost heap was frozen round the edges when I tried to dig some out to take to the lottie. We did have a quick trip to the lottie - I had planned on hanging around and doing some digging, but we just dumped the compost and dashed home again. Brrrrrrrrrrrr! Even the house is freezing - only the lounge is warm with the gas fire on.
The Dogmother
Having been well below freezing here all day, it is now -0.9 so getting warmer. I have the stove roaring with the kettle whistling away on top and even my draughty old house is pretty warm at the moment... I have just been ironing though. fowlbird
lowest here today was -0.5 the office was warm when I came in here earlier but the temperature has dropped - no idea what it's like outside - I'm not putting my nose out the door if OH says once more that we're due a 'warm spell' I'll scream... When he says the warm spell he does not say when!!! or where . A warm spell could be in bed .... or in the summer months Best regards Ian
fowlbird
he's actually in the bed warming it up while I finish this can of coke I have... as for outside - if his theory is correct - that no kind of weather lasts for more than two weeks in this country - any warm spell will be quickly followed by another cold spell and at my age I can't cope... Egluntyne
Noticeably warmer here this morning. 7 degrees and not a sign of any frost, which was hard and crunchy last night when I went out. Cloudy and dull though.

Seagazer
It feels a bit warmer outside but I still have snow in the garden. It was really cold overnight though. I had my dressing gown over me and my socks on in bed.

Blackrocksrock
Ho Ho we are warmest - + 11.4 degrees so far and windy and the frost is coming out of the ground now but still a bit lingering. Its strange to be so much milder so quickly. My friend is in Jersey and its cold and frosty there. Edited January 11, 2009 by Guest
