buffie
I went to a lovely wedding party on saturday and during the celebrations I found myself pushed into the side of a marquee. Actually Someone fell forwards and literally pushed me through the side panel which collapsed I was on the floor(actually concrete) remained concious but lump the size of a tennis ball. Didn't want a fuss and had ice and said I'm fine. Feel fatigued today and really lacking in any get up and go, drained I'd say. Any advice..not sick or dizzy but sore, Stiff and exhausted, a bit distant too (not in a hangover way I must add ) Just thought you may have some suggestions...nice ones please, BBx

buffie
May call NHS direct and get some idea of what to do. I think it's rest required but feels ridiculous. Thanks though Lesley I will now call NHS direct and get advice. BBx
Lesley
They'll only tell you to go and have it checked Hope you feel better soon.
buffie
Probably ..they will call me in 20 mins but don't want to sit in casualty or something and waste anyones time if I'm just in slight shock from the fall. I laugh about this in a weeks time...how daft. Injured at a wedding BBx

buffie
Mikey coming home at lunchtime and have spoken to nurse. She said feelings of being hit by a train mean I shouldn't be alone for long today:? Keep an eye out for any other changes. BBx

Guest
Good advice from one and all - presumably the NHS Direct line has already told you all this - but they have a very good page about bumps to the head and what to look for: http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?printPage=1&articleId=465 Most people don't do for themselves whet they would advise others to do (I guess we're all like that) - but it's often a good rule of thumb to think to yourself what yolu would advise a friend to do in similar circumstances - and then ask yourself why you wouldn't do that yourself... 99% of head-bumps are merely embarassing - but (not wishing to scare you) - some of them do have further repercussions which it is better to sort out sooner than later. we'll be thinking of you today.. buffie
Thank you everyone and thanks for that Phil. I appreciate the information and advice. I may pop to doctors later to see the GP and good point look after myself and not just advise others...point well and truely taken. The Dogmother
Oh dear, too much gin? Sorry to hear about that Buffster - it must have been a bit of a shock. Sounds a bit like mild concussion (I felt just like that when I had it). You really do need to get it thoroughly checked just to be on the safe side. They really don't mind, but it really is best as things from head-bashes can turn up later. Try not to eat or drink for now, rest, but stay awake if you can. Gentle hugs on their way to you XXOOXX

One Man Banned
Crikey! You got a doctor's appointment on the same day! At our's you have to call between 8:00 and 8:30 and that'll mean an appointment three weeks this thursday but first you have got to get past the receptionist who thinks she should diagnose you first before you get anywhere near the doctor's stethoscope. If you're lucky you'll get the practice nurse and only ONCE have I ever actually seen my doctor in 5 years. (only saw him then as I was breaking down and they needed him available to section me should it have been deemed appropriate ) Seriously though hope it goes ok Buff, hope you feel better soon! buffie
I'm ok he thinks if I were going to have any further probs we woud have the signs by now He said head traumas give this rather spaced out feeling and flu like symptoms, I am not having any nasty symptoms other than what I have said. I must have a good old hard head but will take safety gear to any future gatherings Feel better than earlier and you guys have been so nice. Another quiet day tomorrow just to get my energy back.
