Reminiscing for the over 40s

Recommended Posts

I used to have a knitted Clanger & a Soup Dragon, who I loved :D

I wish I still had them now,actually :?

A friend of mine has a child who has been watching the Clangers and loving it. Not sure whether it was on TV or DVD. Anyway, my friend went to her local wool shop and little Alice spotted a knitted Clanger there. She wanted to take it home, of course. The lady said it had been her daughter's and that Alice couldn't take it home but that she thought she still had the pattern. Went off and found the pattern, so my friend got the wool and knitted one for her daughter...it is now her favourite toy. I could ask her for the pattern if you like?? :):)

Does anyone remember Poggles Wood?

I remember the name and probably that Oliver Postgate (who did a lot of kids' programmes) did the voices. Can't remember much else though![tries to look for a scratching head smily!]

Anyone have a bubbly swimming cozzie?

And plastic sandals in brown from Woolworths, a bargain at two and sixpence, long before anyone had heard of jelly shoes or Crocs.

Egluntine  - you know i did  - a blue one!

Me too! Mine was a tasteful *cough* Tangerine colour. :vom: What was my mother thinking???

How could I forget Hannibal Hayes and Kid Curry. Even as a very very young girl, I used to  over Pete Duel. I think that he committed suicide - very sad!
