GreenGirl
I know I haven't known you all very long, but I was hoping for some good luck thoughts for me starting a new job on Monday I decided to give up my previous job being fed up working at client sites all over the place, not knowing where I was going to be - not good for the home life and was difficult to study. I am now starting a new job based in one location after deciding this was more important than the job title and salary, but it does mean I am home every night and can carry on with finishing my studies I am now really nervous about starting on Monday, not helped by only having surgery two weeks ago so still a bit sore Generally feeling a bit sorry for myself Wish me luck please! Thanks x

GreenGirl
Thanks all - Plum, I am in my 4th and final year of training as a psychotherapist (unless I do another 3 for my masters!), completely different to the day job and hopefully full time soon (not that the new job know that )

jackiepoppies
Sounds like you've made an executive decision that's right for you and yours. All the very best......can you give us (well, me), a clue, what it's all about and the studies?) It's always exciting, albeit nervewracking, doing something new. Please let us know how you get on. GreenGirl
Thanks, I am a business transformation consultant (sounds pretentious I know!) so have changed from a consultancy to the company who looks after the secure network services for emergency services etc, can't really say too much unfortunately, it's a bit but the people I met there all seem really nice, and it is a lot less money grabbing than management consultancy only for another year before I can do therapy full time and actually get to see the chooks in daylight , will really miss them when I start back

Bassett
GOOD LUCK FOR MONDAY!! I start my new job on Monday too! I'm feeling really nervous too, as it's my first job after having several years off with my young children. I'm worried that I've forgotten how to act professionally and might appear a bit Mumsy!! Good luck again - I'll be thinking of you.
Ain't Nobody Here
Good luck to you too, Bassett . Are you going back to your "old" job or doing something new?
Bassett
Hi, Thank You. It's a completely new job. I used to work in Investment Banking in the City, my new job is working in a School. I feel quite nervous about starting work again after so many years of being at home with the children, but I also feel excited.
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm sure you'll love it . I used to work in a merchant bank (a very small one and only as a PA) but have only worked in schools since my kids have been at school. I love it . It fits in so well with family life (although the pay's rubbish ).
