We're all so proud! this is the first day in decades I've not been embarassed about where I come from. My half Brit half American children have been told to be proud of who they are today!

I think its fantastic and it brought a tear to my eye this morning. I was trying to explain to my YS what a momentous thing it was for America, I'm not sure he realised what all the fuss was about.

I am thrilled Obama got in, it's been a very up and down battle. I stayed up until 3.30am watching BBC news just to make sure he was successful. Now he has got to start implementing the 'change' he has been going on about, I do hope he does.

Big relief all round here. The thought that if McCain had won and then anything happened to him, that Sarah Palin would become President and be the leader of the 'free' world was just to scarey to think about.
