Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Glad that the SheWee has caused more hilarity. We were 'ROFL' on Christmas Day.

 

I still have not tried it out, but we did have a 'dry run' so to speak and it makes it possible to wee like a man - so no skirt required and no bobbing down behind bushes.

 

The very thoughtful person who bought it for me was none other than my lovely OH

 

There is a story behind it, involving Venice when I was pregnant (I am pretty sure that is all the information you need).

 

But he did actually think it might be useful, as I am starting a series of walks in the build up to my big 5 0 coast to coast expedition.

 

If anyone wants to join in (Lesley?), I am walking the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path in sections starting at the end of this month.

 

I can see the bids starting to build on those SheWees as I type....

You need a crinoline so that you can just bob down. Passers by will think you are curtseying.

this all reminds me of when a Swedish pen-pal came to stay with us back in the 60s... she wore this incredibly impressive all in one shorts and top but it was hell to get out of when she needed the loo in a hurry - in the end I undid the stitches at the crotch and added press studs for her

A battery operated clucking chicken that is supposed to lay eggs, but all it does is squawk very loudly and run along on it's wheels .

 

My OH picked it up at a car boot in the summer and 'mended it'

The brick is a relic from my childhood.

 

Mum used to say that if we were naughty, we'd only get a brick under the Christmas tree, no presents. One year, as a joke, a real brick appeared amongst the presents. It was re-wrapped and sent to a new recipient every year until both my sister and I moved away from home. One of our little rituals was to disguise the brick really well, everyone waited with baited breath to see who would receive it this time.

 

This year for the first time in at least ten years, my family and my sister's family were all together with Mum and Dad for Christmas. Mum must have thought we'd forget about the brick, but no, it was the first thing I wrapped up!

We have a piece of metallic wrapping paper which is more than 20 years old . It's a family tradition that it's used every year. It's getting slightly smaller each year but it's in remarkably good nick .

Rather late to this one, but it's had me giggling... not good when you have a cold and sneeze at the same time... perhaps i need that Shewee!

 

I've never been shy about public weeing and The Boy has only just got used to my lack of inhibitions after 7 years together. Being 'shuttle bunny' on a white water rafting trip when 8 months preggers did it for me - no loos and no cover to speak of in February... just weed beside the Landrover .

 

What did I get? Well, mostly useful presents... money (very helpful at the moment), thermals, lurcher calendar, troll beads, mincer attachment for my ancient Kenwood Chef, DVD of Mamma Mia.

 

Clients at work (who obviously don't know me well) plied me with chocolates and booze... I don't drink and don't much like chocolate

 

The Boy bought me a hand pamper session (which I have just had) for my poor, chapped hands, and has put up a new cupboard in the kitchen.

 

I did, however, get a religious book from my aunt, but that's to be expected

 

What I really wouldn't mind is a cleaner/ironing lady for a year.... still, it's my birthday on Thursday. I guess I can live in hope.
