Martin B
Well if you sell 4 eggs for £1.10 then you should have plenty to spare!

ubereglu
Do you want a farm Martin? Go on - bid for the piccie! I do want a farm when I'm older, I take Jimmy Doherty as my inspiration. Martin...Don't use Jimmy Doherty as farm inspiration. When he first got his farm it was a complete nightmare as he wanted everything straight away. The pigs escaped then the sheep, then the cows etc. My brother's friend Phil is a son of an ex pig farmer and couldn't believe what he was doing and switched the tv off before he started shouting at him through the tv. Martin B
Don't diss Jimmy. He is one of the most successful pig farmers ever. (Thanks to the BBC)

theherd123
Don't diss Jimmy. He is one of the most successful pig farmers ever. (Thanks to the BBC) Im not dissing Jimmy i think he is fab but i would have thought having secure reliable fencing would have been a must when starting out. Maybe im just too much of a practical girl! Anyway the escaping animals still make me laugh!
Martin B
It wouldn't be as good without the escaping animals and all of the problems!

The Dogmother
I'm with you on this Emma, I sat and watched it shouting 'ELECTRIC FENCING' at the telly He's a great chap, but he could've thought it through first and made the place secure. theherd123
Im so glad im not the only one who talks to the TV! When the pigs started eating his veggies and the chickens just kept popping back out each time he put one in, and the lanbs skipped off in every available direction i just wanted to scream - 'Where's your common sense you ejit!!' Im so glad i was not alone!
The Dogmother
We should've been watching it together. Phil came round to watch it with me and was saying 'it's only TV' At least I had it turned in - I almost never watch the box.
theherd123
We should've been watching it together. Can you imagine We would have laughed our heads off, given him the best possible advice - not that he would have heard it & put the world to rights! Lesley
It wouldn't be as good without the escaping animals and all of the problems! It's not very exciting for the stressed animals Martin. It is in the intersts of the farmer to make sure the animals are secure and well looked after - not careering all over the countryside being chased And don't get me started on his 'disposable' chickens - "Oh! the fox has killed our chickens because they weren't locked up properly - I'll get some more" I think I'd better bid on this picture - again

Its been a great auction, and I want to thank everyone who has put in a bid for this so far. So generous of you all.... and maybe something we can repeat again since there is clearly so much money out there wishing to go to the BHWT!!
