craftyhunnypie
BHF shop in Winsford is excellent for bargains! Great for handbags. I love going in there. We also like Debra in Sandbach, although hubby calls it De...bra! I love charity shops. Which one are you going to be working in Poet? Good for you! HENthusiastic
Well done poet I think voluntary work is a fab thing to do. I did quite a lot of volunteer work when I was out of work for a long time. It helped structure my days, gave me people to meet, a sense of purpose and lots more. Hope you get as much out of it as I did.

Sunshine
I volunteer in my local Cancer Research shop(used to be a Wishes shop) on their till and also at Oxfam on their online shop. I enjoy both but talking to the customers and seeing the same ones come in each week is really nice. I started doing it as a temporary thing but i've been at Cancer Research for over a year now and Oxfam a bit less. Just need to find a proper job now. I'm sure you will enjoy volunteering, i do! Snowy
Well done Poet, I'm another lover of charity shops! My step aunty works in one and saves me any useful fabrics that come in I think some of the people that work in the shops are not very well up on the different brands and which shops they come from. I went looking for some short sleeved mens shirts one day and found a load in one shop from Primark - at twice the price I could've bought them new for! I don't think the staff there had realised that the fancy Cedarwood label was nothing of the sort
KimmyCustard
Good for you Poet! I do love a good rummage in a charity shop, my Mum gives all tutt to her local Cats Protection League, they have some lovely things in there and she often comes out with more than she went in! She also works at the Cattery for them, socialising the kittens and pooper scooping, she loves it. (considering she would run a mile from anything feline 10 years ago ) Kimmy x

I knew I wouldn't come home empty handed yes, it was quite busy. Maybe because of the credit crunch? There were quiet moments too though, when I was able to have a mooch around

Guest
It was great but I'm shattered I'm doing half a day a week and if/when I build up my stamina I'll volunteer for more shifts. I really loved it! I wish I had the energy to do more but I'll work towards that. I'm so tired I can't see straight but I've never enjoyed work so much in my life
jackiepoppies
Oh how I envy you I would LOVE to be able to do what you did today Since I was in hospital before Xmas in the the UK, I still haven't managed to shake off this chronic bronchitis and can't walk across a room without wheezing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not feeling sorry for myself (much ) 'cos it's all self inflicted.....46 years of smoking has taken it's toll. Hindsight is a wonderful thing All the very, very best wishes, Jackiex
