The Weather Thread #2

Recommended Posts

Yesterday was really warm and sunny although it came over cloudy towards the late afternoon. Went to London for the evening and it was very close and muggy. This morning it is pleasant outside but damp and has a thick blanket of cloud. We had a small thunderstorm at 6 am with a couple of rumbles - big flashes and rumbles at 20 past 6 and then faded very quickly. Smells nice outside - I have a viburnum that is heavily scented and that is really hanging around the patio, hmmmmmm.

Last week in Malta was lovely, with just one day of bad weather when we woke to gales and lashing rain on the last day.

Lovely here on Monday and managed to get all the washing dry outside, plus a walk across Edgehill in the afternoon.

Not bad here on Tuesday either, but woke to distant thunder this morning. Disappointingly it didn't come much closer :?

Hello

Some of you may have picked up from an earlier thead that in January I handed in my notice and 6 weeks ago I left my job for a change of pace.

Today is the first day that I haven't been out in the garden planting up the beds or in the potting shed getting more seeds started.

After last night's single clap of thunder we now have steady rain and it's cold with it.

Decided to bake Fourbecameeight's Yogurt Cake from the wiki page this morning, so I've stuck the heating back on, cut myself a large slice and mashed another cup of Lady Grey tea.

The the weather this afternoon looks like more of the same so I intend to make the most of it and snuggle up in a comfy chair with my cross stitch (rhode island red).

If the weekend's weather is to believed, there will be plenty of time then to catch up with the jobs in the garden, so I can afford to take it easy this afternoon :D

Kind regards,

Christine

Easter was brilliant - especially Monday.....downhill ever since....

Evil, vile, cold and wet now  Yesterday was more like Autumn and we can't let our new lambs out yet :(

The weekend is looking better.......and so does the beginning of the week - fingers crossed.

We didn't get any rain yesterday after all - it looked so iffy out the back that I quickly did some planting and ran back indoors - but it stayed way over the back just looking ominous. Most storms tend to lie across the back there - I think they follow the Thames so roll along the valley. Because we are up high, the storms seem to go around us rather than directly overhead - very rare to have one hanging around.

We don't escape the rain though - which we have this morning - lots of drizzle.
