AJuff
Sorry to hear of your loss. A friend knitted a hen for my young daughter when her hen Daisy died which cheered her up such a lot. We replaced Daisy for another white egg laying Daisy 2 which has helped her to look forward. I like the planting a spring bulb idea too. Hope you feel better soon. x

mostin
So sorry to hear about Lottie . The wonderful thing about this forum is that everyone on here knows how you are feeling about the loss of your special girlie. They are each so unique and precious. I think it is lovely you have marked her passing in such a nice way as the rockery.

Purplemaniacs
Both my original Omlet girls died last year one in March, the other in September. I planted a little patch of spring bulbs for each of them. Is this something you and your daughter might like to do? Please don't be sad. Hope you do something nice on this lovely sunny day. Liz That is a nice idea, one of our Omlet girls died recently and my daughter (grown-up) suggested planting something in Henny Penny's memory as 4 year grandaughter was upset as Henny Penny was her favourite. Henhathnofury, so sorry to read about the loss of Lottie, hope you and your daughter are ok. Chrissie

Seagazer
I'm so sorry to hear about Lottie, its so sad. I hope your daughter is okay. It is very upsetting for them when a pet they think of as theirs dies. Its lovely that you've been able to do something special with her for Lottie. I'm sorry to hear that you have had bad news as well this week. Take care and be assured that we are all sending positive thoughts and hugs. Henhathnofury
All your postive thoughts are wonderful. Also looking out at my other two crazy darlings as they run up and down the garden.... I think having chickens makes people kinder and more understanding of things in general....I really do believe that. My daughter is still very sad..awful to watch really.. Henhathnofury
I also appreciate the fantastic job some of you do here for battery chickens. The poor things often only live a short (but happy) life. It must take some kind of emotional strength to go through that time and time again. Hats off to you all.
