moomin
Tracey from the DTBC called yesterday to say I could come down and collect my chicks, so we went down today! Not very good photos, they've been in the Eglu house stuffing their beaks all afternoon, until I went out to shut them in and the buff and the lavender were out in the run having fun - typical They are lovely though...the lavendar is the smallest but the most fiesty and bold... The Partridge is the only one I have named, she is called Poppy. I am a bit worried about her as she's not been out of the Eglu house all afternoon and seems very stressed - eyes closed at times, she's been eating but I haven't seen her drink Their house... 'Omlet City'.... Hope you like them, can't wait for tomorrow so that I can go out and see them again, but have got to go to work after I've got Tuesday and Wednesday off though!! *mummy_hen*
They are adorable!!! So cute! Our smallest hen rules the roost also so she may end up being top chick! Look forward to seeing more photos of them. I'm sure they will settle down quickly and soon start eating for england!!

moomin
Thanks all, I'm very happy with my little babies Palmer07 they are 8 weeks old. That's why I wanted a Partridge Pekin Janty! I hope she turns out to be a real character like your Mrs B! So far the lavendar is a proper little madam, she came running (or should I say hopping!)down the full length of the Eglu run last night when I went out to close the door, she looked like she wanted to escape, looking round to find a way out!! Ain't Nobody Here
They're adorable, so cute and fluffy . What a gorgeous clean too . And it needs saying again, your WIR is fab .
moomin
Thank you ANH. The lovely clean Eglu is now extremely poo-ey. Reason being is that they've been in there for more than 24 hours and I haven't been able to get in and clean. I am a bit poo-obsessed admitedly. Pekin Bantams are very small but in relation their poos are quite large! I am itching to get my rubber gloves on and go on a good poo-pick! Hopefully they will be a bit bolder tomorrow and I will be able to get in there Thanks for your kind comments.

moomin
Thanks Chelsea! Nope, no lemon Cochins but I would have a trip down there and get your order in! It's lovely, they will have the lambs around soon I think. They've got 2 gorgeous pud-cats, the lady there Tracey is sooo lucky to work in a place like that, it's so not fair I just work in a boring office for a boring building society testing boring software! Rant over! Get yourself down there for a treat - lemon Cochins sound lovely! The perfect addition to your flock

The perfect addition to your flock I might go down next week (have some days off) for a wander. OH would have more chickens tomorrow but I feel our "Inn" is a bit full at the moment. moomin
I reckon Skye & Bobbie will love the new arrivals, your girls are quite placid arent they? I hope so Chelsea, I'm not sure if they've actually noticed them yet! When they are out freeranging the wander round the Eglu and they must be able to hear the cheeping coming from inside but they haven't said much! But they keep seeing me go by their run with feeders and drinkers which aren't for them, so I get the feeling their beaks are already out of joint!
