tiggerlady
Well girls, following on from the thread on tranexamic acid , I got in this lunchtime to find a hospital letter giving me an op date for hysterectomy of....9th April!! Thats 6 weeks away! On reflection, that doesnt give me much of a chance to try the tablets..or did she know that they probs wouldnt work anyway so put me in for 'as soon as possible' I am going on my gut feeling of excitement about it as I really thought my stomach would lurch..so I shall be taking them up on their kind offer as on balance (and taking into account your very kind and informed words) I think its the best option in the long term..and I might not get it offered again if I turn it down.. So now its all hands to pumps, gonna do lots of work to stash cash in the bank and buying loads of cat and dog food to keep in the garage..freezers stacked for us humans anyways

The Dogmother
You'll be fine - keep positive about it. I must say that the nurses in our gynae unit were brilliant and gave me a side room!
Charlottechicken
Ooh, that was quick, like you say not enough time to try the tablets but it will put an end to your problems. Good luck with everything
The Dogmother
Our local hospital gave me a date 3 months ahead but I asked to go on the 'late notice list' and ended up having it about 3 weeks later.

Ecky
Hi, couldn't comment on the tranexamic acid, but on the hysterectomy I can. I had it done when I was 31 due to severe endometriosis and it was the best thing that ever happened to me . I know there can be problems with bladder etc., however, I have absolutely none. So, good luck to you. Take it easy for a while, but enjoy dog walking, that restored me to full health. Cyber hugs.
hillfamily
Glad to hear you are feeling positive about having the op - wishing you all the best :D
kitchens
That means in 12 weeks time you will be fighting fit again (and i don't mean that lightly as it's likely I will need the same op at sometime in the future). I understand its a big step, but whatever your reasons for needing to have it done - means the problems will be resolved. Good luck!
