chooklady
This probably a daft question. I was looking at the Tefal iron, are the base and the iron plugged in seperately or is the iron connected to the base unit? You can tell I don't look at irons more often than is necessary can't you, preferably I would like an ironing lady rather than a new iron!! Your help is greatly appreciated. Blackrocksrock
Mine does not spit out rusty stuff ever - it must depend on the type - mine is a polti and they do not corrode inside. Its wonderful
eeyoreshunny
I have this one; http://www.johnlewis.com/230437772/Product.aspx?source=35735 and it's fantastic makes ironing soooo much easier and quicker (which is good cause i hate ironing ) it's quite large though so can be a pain to store, and I've never had a problem with any rusty water coming out of it either
Seagazer
I have a Philips Intellicare 7010 and it has one plug it doesn't spit out yucky stuff but you do have empty the chamber every 10 or so uses and then a thin milky looking liquid comes out and its ready to go again. Best thing we ever bought (well for ironing anyway)
abwsco
I have one bought from Aldi and it's great. It was £40ish with a two year guarantee. Think they still do them from time to time. Mines never spat out rusty liquid either.
Chickvic
I'm seriously tempted by one of these. I can't stand ironing - I find it a real chore so I have to admit that I only iron school uniform We all look a bit scruffy at the weekend! Do these really make that much difference? Yes, but if you can't stand ironing don't spend a lot on one. That's why I got an Aldi one -lol
Blackrocksrock
It is ideal if you hate ironing as it takes the chore out of it and makes for shorter times to iron and I actually like ironing nowadays OK sad I know but its true.
Egluntyne
My Tefal Steam Generator has never spat out rusty water. I have had it for over 2 years.
Snowy
It definitely cuts down ironing time. I can get away with only ironing one side of things and it zips through them really quickly. I noticed them in Aldi when I was there last week - looks like very good value!
BeckyBoo
If you go to the Ideal Home Exhibition, then on the stand next to the Omlet one they are demonstrating irons and ironing boards that cost £900, yes that's right, I said £900 If I had £900 to spend on an iron I'd get a woman in to do it for me instead!! Mind you, if you bought it at the show they knocked a massive £200 off the price, so really it's a bargain at only £700 Apparently they are very good, but then THEY'D BLOOMIN' WELL HAVE TO BE AT THAT PRICE!!!! I'd expect it to make me a cup of tea and change the duvet covers for that BeckyBoo

The Dogmother
I tried out a friend's Morphy Richards one and thought it was fab. My current iron (not a generator model) is heavy and has given me tennis elbow. This steam generator helped immensely and cut down the ironing time too. I am now saving up for one!
