That's a shame - keep positive about the school she is going to and there is always movement, so keep her on their waiting list as well.

Sorry it didn't work out after all your efforts . As others have said, I'm sure Rosie will do very well and be a credit to whichever school she goes to.

 

Are you still on the waiting list, just in case, or have you preferred certainty?

Rosie was on the waiting list, but she's asked me to contact them to take her off - she's so far down it anyway, but she'd rather not have the uncertainty at this stage.

 

She's now 'comitted' regards the other school and fine about it, so prefers to know where she's at. This one is only a mile walk away, so much easier to travel to as well.

Good for Rosie she sounds remarkably sensible - must be all that chook-wrangling!

My sister was in the same situation last year. The school that she appealed for was a specialist drama one which would have suited her down to the ground. However she didn't get in and decided that she would rather go to the same high school as her friends from primary. She loves her school now and she has settled brilliantly. My youngest sister will be starting there in September, but unfortunately only 5 girls from her primary class will be going to the same one as her year is split between five secondary schools.

Sorry things havent worked out for you. It sounds like you have prepared her well for her new school whatever the outcome.
