you rant away, I would be pretty fed up too, you could contact the organisers to see if they have received your entry money. It should be a fun day for a very worthy cause, your friends seems to have some issues to deal with

I receive my pack very quickly after I enter each year.

 

Some excellent advice above - tackle her about it and then perhaps the rest of you can register the team yourselves.

You need to find out where your pack is asap. If she's team leader she should be able to handle questions from her team, if not she can walk the plank. For an easy pirate costume, find a stripey top, get some charity shop trousers and cut them off roughly at the bottom. Then get a wire coat hanger and, using the hook bit for the shape, wrap around some tin foil until it's thick enough to use as a pirate hook. You can just hold it in your hand with your hand up your sleeve. If she won't let you wear a hat, cover yourself in kids fake tattoos instead, you'll stand out but she won't be able to complain. You could always insist she does the race on one leg and a crutch for 'authenticity'

If she doesn't want you to wear hats, wear pirate style bandanas instead - she's obviously worried about you all upstaging her Or like the others have suggested, all wear hats and eye patches and if she gets cross say it's a mutiny!

I had a delay on my pack (I phoned to check why) and it was becuase I had ordered t shirts and they were waiting for them to come in.

but my friend who hadn't ordered a t shirt as I ordered her's with mine, got her pack almost the next week of registering.

I'd have an eye patch, fake stubble, massive gold ear ring, parrot on the shoulder and a hat with a huge skull and cross bones on it.

 

I'm sure that even in the small print it won't say that the team leaders can call the shots about costumes.

 

Re the missing money.....has she admitted that you did give her the money after all? If not, I'd definitely take the matter further.

 

What a shame that she has put a blight on the day for you all.

What everyone else said i.e. wear what YOU want on the day, be that full-pirate regalia including eye-patch and hat, or running shorts and T-shirt with no pirate connection at all.

There are lots of people around who THINK they can tell others what to do - doesn't mean the rest of us have to do what they say!

And £15 is not an insignificant amount to be diddled out of! Hope you can sort it.

Keep smiling Laura and don't let her get to you. I think your idea of cops and robbers chasing one another is a good one. Sounds like she needs to be the centre of attention let her be, and seeing as she's the "organiser" she can do ALL of the organising. Just enjoy yourselves, don't let her spoil it for you guys. You are all doing a really good job for a worthy cause
