Egluntyne
WOW am very impressed... I have had my oven cleaned professionally today. It was fairly disgusting. The chap was here for 3 hours (well, it is a range style oven, and he did do the extractor hood too!) It is now fantastically clean. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it looks brand new. Cost £100....worth every penny!!

Cinnamon
I get mine done once a year in December by a great local company called Cookerburra. They were founded by an Aussie - great name, isn't it? Its about £70 ,& my Range cooker looks like new.....& I mean JUST like new when the chaps are through They are som popular that I have to book by September to get a slot! I would recommend a pro clean to anyone
Mrs Frugal
I'm going to be doing that after Christmas because I hate cleaning the oven more than anything else on earth! I'll happily pay someone to do it for me but can't afford it at the moment. I think whoever does it will be here most of the day !
Cinnamon
I just wish I could get someone to defrost the garage freezer too
Egluntyne
I'll send my son round. He does ours for us at least twice a year by forgetting to close the door!

Guest
Ours too was done beautifully a couple of years ago when we came back from holiday to find the trip switch had gone That happened to us! We had builders in and their power tools had tripped the fuse. They made alternative arrangements and didn't think anything more of it! And it was sweltering weather, so hot they could only work outside for a little bit at a time! Miserable way to come back from holiday! chelsea
sounds fantastic...there's nothing like a clean cooker is there?!! A year on, im still cleaning the oven every week and my cooker is like new, the novelty hasnt warn off yet!
chocchick
I cleaned 3 years of grime off the other week and it looks horrible again and my cake rose through the bars of the oven shelf OH had forgotten there was glass on the front
One Man Banned
our oven is fab! it has pyrolytic (sp?) cleaning function and we just turn the k"Ooops, word censored!" to self clean and leave it for 90mins it burns all the mank from the inside (heats up to 450c) and you wipe the bottom of the oven afterwards. And i recommend Baumatic to anyone - the hob is good too, nowhere for the grimy bits to go as it's smooth glass and it can be scrubbed clean! Maybe get Joe to do this this week........ Mel (& Paul)
He also specialises in cleaning out eglus, and sweeping the floors the trick is to do it yourself, but do it so badly that he would rather do a "proper job" - and he thinks I am upset that I am so bad at cleaning

gooner.girl
A little more of the 'man psychology' eh Mel? Whens that book coming out? You are the expert! We bow down in respect!
Cate in NZ
Hubby got a company called Ovenu in to clean our oven early this summer. Initially I was offended, thought he was having a dig at me not doing a good enough job, but they were fabulous. Cost £90 , so not cheap, but the oven was gleaming by the end of it, and it did take the cleaner the best part of a day. I suspect it might become an annual ritual now
Guest
I actually enjoy cleaning my oven - it gives me a sense of acheivement. I hate ironing, dusting, tidying - all that housework type stuff, but 'proper' jobs, like cleaning the oven that take a bit of effort, but have obvious results - I love. If anyone want to pay me £90 to clean theirs - I'm free next Thursday!
Cate in NZ
If anyone want to pay me £90 to clean theirs - I'm free next Thursday! Fancy a trip down to Kent then Shona I can enjoy ironing... given a soppy film to entertain and no pressure, I do love seeing crisp piles of freshly done ironing, but oven cleaning Worse still- I hate emptying my dishwasher , such a chore. I load it up cheerfully enough, but if I can delegate the emptying to someone else I'm so much happier
Guest
I LOATHE emptying the dishwasher, but have no idea why. Tell you what Kate, I'll bring down my humungous pile of ironing, and you can do it, while I clean your oven - no money needs to change hands! The Dogmother
Sounds like a deal to me! I love cleaning and ironing - it's hard to find the time to get it done, but I love the satisfaction when it all looks good. Phil sometimes takes my washing up and puts it in his dishwasher for me - that's a bouns, but if he isn't putting it on that day, it means that I run out of crockery and cutlery
theherd123
When we moved into this house it had a dishwasher - absolute luxury however we only owned 4 of everything - plates, dishes, cups etc so we had to go out and buy more so it was worth putting the dishwasher on!
