Omlet good vibes needed! NEW UPDATE - interview done!

Recommended Posts

Thank you all - I've written the presentation (draft 1!) and I'm writing down a list ot things I would do in the role. Interview is with 3 guys. I already broke my "buy nothing new" and bought a new suit (left the labels in in case I didn't need it!) and new shoes. My HOD thinks they have already decided who they want in all the roles they advertised. I do know there were more applicants than interviews (although there were 5 jobs advertised so I don't know which ones had loads of applicants). I think he is wrong though - they may have thought some people would be good in those roles but until you know who is going to apply you don't know what skills are on the table - I've been there less than a year and my work in industry gives me a LOT of experience in this area - as does my experience in previous schools.

Just gotta get that presentation down to 10 mins now.

Thanks again all - I havn't slept properly for the past two nights. I've psyched myself up and pushed up my confidence levels. Biggest downer is that I have to teach right before the interview - I have a lesson P1 and the interview starts 5 mins into P2.

Well I just got back from the interview - I feel like I did 10 rounds with tyson, they were scoring me on the questions they asked! The head made copious notes. There is one more person to be interviewed so I'm guessing we will all get called back sometime around lunchtime.

I couldn't really tell you how it went - the sun was shining when I came out though which I feel was a good omen!

Of course the others could have been brilliant!

Sorry I got stupidly busy and havn't been on here in the last coupla days.

I didn't get it but I'm not too :( . I wasn't ever sure I was ready for or even wanted to be "management" I've always seen my future along the Advanced Skills Teacher route. I got some amazing feedback though and I've seriously impressed the head and management team with my experience and presentation.

I've been encouraged to apply for jobs which will arise from this in the future and told they are pleased that I see myself as a long term member of their team.

Then I got stupidly busy with my new business venture - I took delivery of three bouncy castles this morning!
