Mel (& Paul)
Just to remind you that The River Cottage Treatment starts on thursday - Channel 4 at 8pm. The write up in our local paper is "new serries in which HFW invites a group of urban dwellers to spend a week at River Cottage to experience the "grow your own" way of life. In the opening episode he meets a family of chicken loving takeaway frequenters who are subjected to a visit to a factory poultry farm in an attempt to curb their unhealthy eating habits" I dont think it's going to be comfortable watching! Mel (& Paul)
Martin, the trick is to mention battery hens / hen welfare a little but often - like a dripping tap - the drip will eventually crack the stone

chelsea
the free range/organic and normal farms featured were suprsingly the ones my husband works at! not the horrid one in the video they were watching hubby said he's never seen chicken without feathers in their farms. more people will definetly buy free range/organic now. i couldnt watch the "killing" though
