chelsea
good pictures! i think i will buy one, im absolutely useless at anything to do with sewing (yes even buttons ) im a good cook though!
red
I did think that a really small version (maybe stuffed with something a bit lighter than rice and without a zip) with a loop on its head would make a rather unusual hanging xmas decoration........ Or maybe with some lavender for a nice wardrobe or drawer pomander type thingy? Good pressie idea? ...
Mrs Frugal
They are lovely ! I just need to find some time now...... .
Charlottechicken
Thanks for the dimensions! The fabric does indeed look like 70's curtains, when I bought my house 12 years ago all the rooms had wild curtains and clashing wallpaper! Wish I had saved the fabric now
Christian
Hi Lorna Thanks for posting the details. Could i just ask about the eyes??? are they buttons or 'painted' on?? Just finished sewing my Christmas stockings!! Very easy but the bl***y sewing machine kept jamming!!!! Really like these doorstops and the ideas for smaller ones for drawers, wardrobes. What about a loop and make funky keyrings??? Christian x x x
Looney
Hi Christian, Sounds like you've been busy! I'm very impressed Hope you've unjammed your sewing machine The eyes are made from little black beads although I guess you could use little buttons. Christian
Thanks Lorna I would love to give those things a go, but the OH will be leaving the house as the language was blue yesterday and I was only hemming a strip of hessian to make sacks!!!!!! These look a lot more complicated, but fancy make them for stocking fillers. Christian x x x
Mrs Frugal
Very easy but the bl***y sewing machine kept jamming!!!! You've not got the same Jones sewing machine as me, have you, Christian? Mine is so good at jamming that I think I'm going to call it Bob Marley !

ubereglu
I have cut out all the pieces and will just have to sew it together tonight. Thanks for the pictures, they were a real help. I wasn't very sure on where the wattles and beak were stitched on.
Snowy
So who was the bright spark that said "they look easy to make"?? Actually, not too bad once the maths has been sorted! So here is my Buff Orpington, prototype 1. No funky 70s material, just some curtain material, but the kids love him!
Nicola H
Wow he is really good Snowy, I am still searching for material I am sure there is some in the loft somewhere............ Did you use a zip ? Not too sure I can do zips I might just fill it up with rice and then hand sew the hole up, I have bought the bits of felt to make the wattle and comb.....So watch this space....
