Ain't Nobody Here
I'm fed up . It's not been a great day so far anyway with ES's exam results but I feel really down now. OH is at work, the boys are on their computer/Xbox, I can't motivate myself to do anything and just feel miserable. I never expect much from birthdays but this one seems worse than usual . I was planning to go to the garden centre to get myself some new planters and bits and pieces but can't be bothered. That would have been my birthday present. My boys don't do presents . Sorry, don't know why I'm moaning. Maybe it's because I'm 47 today - I could have sworn I was only 27.

Blackrocksrock
Yes get out and enjoy the day by yourself - go and get a coffee and a large cake and buy something big and expensive just for you and tea time - make them pay up for a take away or a night out somewhere = do no cook to-day - hey I can't do those fancy hugs but sending them anyway. Seagazer
I hope you've gone out to the garden centre or somewhere else Vicki, you shouldn't sit at home. As was suggested a cup of coffee and slice of cake is the order of the day with a couple of nice glasses of wine later.
Olly
Sorry you're not having a good day, but Happy Birthday! I don't really enjoy birthdays, they were great when I was little but as an adult they just never quite live up to expectations, and that's nothing to do with not wanting to get older, they're just always a bit of an anti-climax. Two things to cheer you up: (1) You don't look 47 from the photos I've seen and (2) You're still younger than me! I'm ready for the cyber-party, I'll have to keep the noise down though because I am at work.
WarrensWorld
La breithe shona dhuit. (happy birthday in Irish.) ..... We're just about to open a bottle of chilled Gewurztraminer, (suns over the yard-arm). Cheers we'll drink a toast to your birthday.... Chucky Mama
OK, here's a birthday joke to cheer you up: "Two atoms were walking down the street. One atom says to the other one, "I've lost an electron! The 2nd atom replies, "Are you sure?" Says the 1st atom, "I'm positive."

Groovychook
Happy Birthday!! Good idea's suggested already, but along with buying yourself a pressie, scoffing some cake and a nice glass of wine or two... have a lovely, girly, bubbly bath! jlo
The day can only get better..... can't it!!?? As someone famous once said, "I believe in Loyalty. Guest
I'm sorry you're feeling down Vicki. I don't really think that's like you, so I'm especially sorry on your special day. It is your day, so smile and please yourself. I hope you find some enjoyment. I have just returned from Edinburgh (the city) and we celebrated our wedding anniversary there. My husband took me to Henderson's for dinner and it was incredibly delicious. He isn't a vegetarian but even he was drooling over the wonderful meals. Have you been there? Happy Birthday anyway. It was a terrific year to be born!
