Does anybody ever feel ..... Part # 8

Recommended Posts

Lewis is back :D

Cinderella was good tonight :) I did close the wrong curtains at one point though (the reds instead of the blacks) but the audience wouldn't have realised.

I knew I had it but I've just checked the time and I have a driving lesson at 10am tomorrow - Lewis needs sleep  Should be good though, I still need to book my theory test  .

Morning all. Sad one for us. Jiu Jiu is no more. :( OH and I decided on the broomstick method and then he said he would rather I do the deed and he would stand on the broomstick. Hmmph - wimp! I thought he would be the one from all the He Man talk. So we picked Jiuj out very early this morning and wrapped him in a towel - straight up the garden and did the deed. It was indeed quick, but after he flapped so much I thought we hadn't done it properly and gave it an extra pull and I became the Queen of Hearts - "off with his head!" Well that produced an eeeewwww from both of us. I know that he was actually dead before I did that, so I wasn't that upset. I had sort of distanced myself for some time from Jiuj, although it was still a bit hard, a few tears shed but short lived. I felt a right murderer. Lady MacBeth now! Then plucking and you know what? OH said "Sorry I can't do this". ARGHHHH!

We both agree he had a fine life - and yesterday he had a big fight with Apache which upset DD, perhaps that was the moment she knew it couldn't go on. I gather they were fighting for top position. So now I consider myself well and truly initiated into the farming world. OOH ARRR and where's me bit of straw to put in my teeth. I may as well hunt for a smock.

Sending you hugs Koojie, I know it can't have been easy.

I can't believe you "did a Mostin", but I think my logic would be I'd rather be safe than sorry too.

At least he had 19 weeks, when you see that most commercially produced chicken only has 39 days and miserable days at that, its reassuring that he had a good time and a good life before ending up as dinner.

Have upset DD. She was told the truth when asked, but said "that's horrible" after I told her that I plucked the bird too, so that pretty well upset me.

But I can't justify killing for the sake of it - there must be a reason, and if I want a smallholding, I must get used to it. The second time will be better, but I would like to put that off for a little while longer! Not quite the seasoned serial killer just yet - took tips from Dexter with quite a lot of plastic just in case! Writing this down makes it easier for me too - thanks for the hugs - they are just right, not too limp and not too bear huggy. Eyeing him up and wondering how much he weighed like the Tom and Jerry thought bubbles with a roast did help a lot beforehand!

And yes he had a fantastic life up till then and he wasn't stressed at all, very quick and quiet and no flapping until I did the deed. So (I will depersonalise him now) it's hanging in the garage in a shroud for a while. DD off to a concert tonight (her Welsh boys  ) so I will do the rest when she is away to spare her the details.

Love from Cloned Mostin!

Aw blooming heck OH now calling me "The Butcher of Basingstoke"! I resent that! Even DD thinks that's a bit much considering he's such a chicken himself! Awkward moments over. I gave him a raspberry :P . So Debs and Clootie - chicken fajitas?:twisted: Not much breast, but the legs look rather tasty. Oh how bad is that - I'm just pure evil.

Or a Greengo! Did you know that was supposed to have come from the song "Green grow the rushes, oh" because that's what the North American (probably a mix of countries, mostly English in those days) guys used to sing. Useless info finished with, ahem.

DD is quite happy and given me a hug too. She said well, when you see how long battery hens last, pooh. Plus she has noticed how peace has reigned over the girls. When I let them out in the morning there was always a squabble, but they didn't this morning. She said Jiuj was really bad yesterday fighting with the girls. So, all accepted - and she's cheerful and I started blubbing, so she said "awww, don't upset yourself mum, it can't have been easy for you and it had to happen". Waaaahhhhh!

I have just come home from a book launch, my neighbour has had his 11th book published and today was the launch of it, and we were invited. :D

We couldn't decide whether to leave the inner doors open or close it, but decided to leave them open. I was worried we'd come home to carnage, but its all rather friendly. Barbara has worked out the ladder and has been in the cube. However, Grace has been picking on Ace, I said to OH that I think its a name issue, as Ace has part of her name and being the super model that she is, she doesn't like it

Oh, also we had boiled egg and soldiers for breakfast, with our first blue and green eggs 8)

Just a warning because this isn't in self sufficiency and I don't want to upset anyone:

What they said at the course was, when you're holding him, his brain is controlling everything he does- keeping his wings still and into his body.

As soon as the spinal cord is severed his brain isn't controlling anything any more, so his wings start to flap, so I think you may have done it before - so he didn't suffer :)

Just had my driving lesson - was ok, did Turn in the road again and just 'general driving'. Next lesson is on Friday afternoon :D

I thought the forum looked different somehow...what was wrong with the stickies?

*cough* moderator Fred

They looked messy and they where not doing much. And I saw that size 1 comment too - haha

So did I. :roll::shameonu::lol:

I mean, so did I "see the comment". Not, so did I "looked messy & was not doing much".

Er, good thing I'm on the crazy topic. Anyway, where else would there be such observant members, I don't suppose many iothers have noticed the difference with the stickies.

Lewis, I thought that was a great explanation re Koojie's post.

Well done Koojie. :)
