Couperman
Just seen this ***linky dinky*** Terry is stepping down from the brekky show to be replaced by Chris Evans. I do like Terry but I think Chris will do a great job. Kev.

Space Chick
What will we do in the morning without the Janet and John stories Although, I think that Chris Evans is doing a grand job on drive time, so will be an excellent replacement for Sir Tel. I wonder who will take over the drive time slot
poachedegg
I wonder who will take over the drive time slot It says it that article possibly Simon Mayo.
Couperman
Have they got rid of that annoying windbag who's on before Terry yet. I refuse to listen to her, saying that it's been a while since I listened to anything at that time of the day Kev.
Chickendoodle
It's the end of an era but he had to go sometime - he is 71 after all. I love Terry's show but am looking forward to Chris Evans who has matured into a brilliant presenter I think. Loving Aled Jones at the moment who is standing in for Sarah Kennedy - would be good if that was permanent !
Mutrix Farmers
OH likes Aled Jones and Tel. Not sure how he feels about Chris Evans though!!

Guest
It'll be the end of more than an era! I used to listen to Terry every morning while I was still at primary school. Now I have a daughter at university and my youngest has started secondary school! The mornings just won't be the same - he's always been there! Space Chick
I don't mind Sarah Kennedy, but do like Aled Jones a lot Its Steve Wright that I can't stand, he's a pompous irritating little man, and he's not funny
The Dogmother
I was gutted when I heard, and nearly in tears when he made the announcement on his show this morning I can't stand Chris Evans.
Old Speckled Hen
Yes it's here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8241101.stm you can listen to the announcement. sob sob I shall miss him and Claret you're right ..... The Dogmother
El Tel is the only one I can bear to listen to in the morning; I loathe commercial radio and find other jocks annoying with their banter. How will I manage? I don't watch telly, so it's the only time I get to listen to the news.
Fizzle Knit
Terry has never done a lot for me - either back when I was in secondary school and my mother had Radio 2 on (30 odd years ago!) or now when I occasionally hear him if I'm in the car at that time. Didn't like Chris Evans in his Radio One years but he's grown on me in recent years, I think he'll do well on the breakfast show.
Cinnamon
I loved Chris Evans on Radio 1 Breakfast, adored him on Virgin & have listened to Virgin (now Absolute) since he was on . His appointment to R2 may even tempt me to listed in

Same here, I tend to have Radio 4 on instead of Steve Wright but Radio 2 the rest of the time, and OH insists on the radio coming on as an alarm in the morning on Radio 4 for Farming Today
Old Speckled Hen
When I was younger I never liked El Tel and used to laugh at his array of toupees but I guess we just grew old together and I grew into him.

Guest
Listening live to Chris Evans - he just played the Wogan announcement and now I'm dancing round the room to "The Floral Dance". I love Wogan but I@m rather fond of Chris Evans too. I have to say I was in floods of tears when Chris Tarrent left Captial Radio and that was what sent me back to Wogan! Mind you I still know all the words to the "Hobart Tasmania" jingle!!!
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm in a minority, I know, but I can't stand Terry Wogan . Just a snippet of his voice makes me change station immediately . Don't like Chris Evans either . I listen to Radio Five Live - during the week there's little to no sport so suits me fine .
Redwing
I'm in a minority, I know, but I can't stand Terry Wogan . I can't either, the constant innuendo and non funny smutty names he quotes gets on my nerves, every day is exactly the same - I do listen for the good traffic reports though! I thought his speech was a bit much to be honest, he still has nearly three months to go!
hillfamily
The school run in the morning without the Janet and John stories just won't be the same I'm sure people must wonder what on earth I am laughing at I shall miss Old Tel but I do quite like Chris Evans

deejmum
I absolutely love Chris Evans AND he keeps chickens too, the perfect man! I remember when he did the radio one breakfast show and I would drive to work listening to him and laughing my head off, great music too! I would always drive past loads of people also laughing, good times, cant wait! I like Terry but he kind of washes over me, Chris will wake me up and get me going I know it! Yipee!
