freespiritbutterfly
theres a guy who works a few shops up from us at a motocycle shop (his dad owns it). Anyway ive worked at our shop for a year and have hardly seen him (the guy) until recently when he popped in three times in one week. He found out i recently rescued a rabbit and he asked all about it and the second time he came in he remembered the name of my bunnie. My boss thinks he likes me and she said that he talks differently to me then he does her but i'm not sure. Are there any obvious indicators that he does like me? i'm not very good at things like this and he seems quite shyish? Everytime he sees me now he says hi and gives a sort of wave. My auntie from spain thinks the same thing as my boss when she saw him she thought he had a look???? Anyone with any experience? thank you Em x Edited October 3, 2009 by Guest

Scramble
The important question is do you like him?! I thought that. I am guessing that you do, otherwise you wouldn't be asking for advice
BeckyBoo
Well, if two independent people BOTH think he seems to like you then I would say there's every possibility he does! And if you like him too then that sounds as good a start as any! How exciting! If he ALWAYS gives you a little wave, and he remembered the name of your bunny then it sounds pretty positive to me - they're not "average" bloke from up the road behaviours really. So. Spill, what's he like? BeckyBoo
freespiritbutterfly
well yeah he's quite sweet looking, not hot but really cute looking lol. Apart from that I don't know that much about him. He sounds really well spoken and has a seriously pretty sister. He works full time for his dad and we are thinking (me and my boss that is) that he has his own flat above the shop.
Scramble
This is reminding me of the post-it love thread Sounds good. I think he likes you by what you've told us..especially if he is interested in your pets..just suggest that you have a cup of tea or something sometime .. or you could see how things play out...just smile at him and if he goes red you'll know
Cinnamon
Aw, sweet I think he likes you - he is certainly making an effort, isn't he? Its easier when you are younger....if a boy likes you in primary school, he will punch you on the arm. In secondary school, he will ignore you totally
Janty
We have a boy and girl in year 7 at school who constantly call each other names and are vile to each other but seem magnified together. I pointed out to them on Monday that such awful behaviours usually indicate that two people really like each other. They each went ' urggghhh!' and haven't been near each other since. Valkyrie
Janty, I think you've just described OH and I! It was different with us - OH was just so irritating - constantly winding me up. My nan said ooh you ought to marry him then - yuk said me. And look what happened. Of course I have got my own back many a time since. I think you've found a nice young man - or he's found you. It's not as if he is a complete stranger. You'll probably find the chats get a little longer and once he is not as shy as he was at first then things will start to happen. And it's not a race so there's no need to rush, let him build up confidence - or find something that he's interested in to ask him about.
Seagazer
Oh he sounds so sweet, it seems that he may well like you. How exciting Just keep up the chatting and see what happens
Alis girls
Is there a coffee shop nearby, ask him if he fancies a coffee after work or in your lunch breaks - safe and lots of people around if he turns out to be psycho Only joking sound hopeful - be a modern girl and take the stand and if it all goes pear shaped you can still say hello but you've lost no self respect. good luck
majorbloodnock
I hesitate before giving the bloke's point of view; I'm qualified on gender grounds, but I'm a generation apart from him, and that may well make a difference. Nonetheless, now you know to be circumspect, I'll say my piece for what it's worth. Don't get too hung up on what kind of "like" for you he's feeling at the moment. Instead, think of "like" in its standard sense. How would you know if, having met another woman, she liked you? Same criteria apply. If you and he like each other enough to spend some time together, then go for it. It's only once you two get a chance to talk and listen to each other that any mutual liking will get a chance to develop (or not, as the case may be). I don't believe men and women are that different in outlook. We all want friends, and we all like to be liked. Amongst those friends, we may be lucky enough to find someone with whom we'd also like to be intimate, despite the male stereotype most blokes are still just as interested in the friendship. All IMHO, of course....
chick wiggle
Well, it sounds quite promising to me too, if he comes in again cant you just say you were just popping out for coffee and would he like one too? No harm in asking and its an innocent enough question that you would ask any friend, male or female. Good luck. Ooo exciting i vaquely remember those days
freespiritbutterfly
It's official he likes me hehe!!!!!!! One of the other shop persons came down today and pulled my boss to one side outside our shop and told her that the "guy" likes me alot hehe! The only thing was the "guy" was asking about me and they told him that i had a boyfriend and a house which none of which is true (heavens knows where she got that from because i'm only 19 lol) anyway my boss quickly told the man from the other shop that i didnt have a bf or a house and apprently after my boss told him that he went and told the "guy" straight away and apperently he was "well chuffed(sp)" his words not mine. Thank you for all your thoughts some make very interesting reading! Watch this space me thinks P.s I get what you mean MBN no worries on my part I know absolutly nout about him yet so ive got to find out if i like him first. Couperman
There are only two reasons a man would go into a shop three times in the same week. 1) they sell really cheap beer. 2) he fancies the sales assistant. I am of course only taking about single men, happily married ones only have the first reason Kev.
Ygerna
no real advice, but, I just wanted to say thanks. Reading your thread is so lovely, it reminds me of when me and my DH met. He is the shyest person on earth, but, we met through work and I had reason to call him often, and things went from there. In the end, I told him he should ask me out, I'd probably say yes. So he did! and I did say yes and, well, here we are, 7 years and 3 children later and he still makes me feel like this. Enjoy! being 19 is such a great thing
freespiritbutterfly
Rrrr thank you for all your post there all lovely. I have a bit of an update for you all. My guy came into work today . My boss very quickly disappeared and left me alone to talk to him. I have found out he has a dog (fox or box terrier? Couldnt quite hear him) and that he has this week off. He asked me about my weekend and if I was working all week and I said yes. But I told him that tues and wed were my days off. He told me that later today he was going to Wales to see a mate who has came over from Switerland (sp). He brought roses for his dad for his mom. He asked about my rabbit again and then he went. My boss reackons that he only came in to tell me he wouldn't be around this week because its his week off. Hehe very exciting
