Teenage boys underwear

Recommended Posts

Just back from a trip to Henley, which is a college town.

Can anyone tell me why teenage boys insist on showing you their undies in their low slung jeans?

Has no one told them that it looks ridiculous & makes them walk as if they have just had an accident?

One lad in front of me had his jeans so low that his ENTIRE bum cheek was out - yes,his jeans waist was below his butt cheek.

Just as well he had nice Calvins on,really :roll::lol:

My son does it with his next undies. He knows I hitch his trousers up if I can get close enough. He doesn't wear his as low as some, though. He lives in dread of me hitching up his friends when they come round.

Do they think it's sexy, cool, rebellious, or what? I just think it looks stoooopid.

It is so funny when their bare bums are exposed :lol: . I think it is supposed to be all gangstar related but most don't realise. It refers to those bad boys in prison who have to have their belts taken away, therefore trousers tend to get loose and fall down a bit. Of course most boys don't realise this and have their trousers halfway down their backsides whilst still wearing the belt :?

Should you have noticed that Sarah

It is a trend that has been around for a while, I remember seeing American films going back 15 years ago and the teenagers were doing it then.

Oh well, looking on the bright side, at least when they get older and fatter their jeans will still fit

ha!!!

I went up to a youth the other day, and informed him that whilst none of the hot young girls were looking, there were several of us ladies having a good old peek, He turned round, just as my three freinds waved at him, and grinned.

UP came the trousers :lol::lol:

But a mate of my dera son, who shall be nameless, has his mum yelling "xxx" PANTS... at him everyu so often, only for him to turn round and yell back "yeah, nice , aren't they!!"

Teenagers,,,,,

I am always tempted to pull the trousers up for them

I'm always tempted to pull them down, would be far more embarrassing for them

when I met Hubby he used to wear his jeans low with his pants waist band on show, and his crotch somewhere around his knees. It was mostly because he'd buy really large size jeans because he couldn't be bothered to try them on

Once he moved in with me (and my parents), he was soon wearing properly fitting trousers

I regularly pull ES's up and take him by surprise  I also barked "pull yer trousers up to his mate" who jumped to attention and did just that  My colleague who is a mum to 3 teens and a nurse too said to a dopey teen leaving the room "..... and pull your trousers up" and he did :D

Cinnamon if I had the answer to your query I would tell you - it is gangsterish but frankly if you were robbing a bank and trying to run in low slung jeans you woouldnt get far

I don't know if it is true, but our teenage apprentice at work, who proports to be a bit of an expert on these matters tells me it has a much more sinister meaning. It comes from prison culture!

It's even more ridiculous when you go skiing and they still have their trousers round their bum and their underwear hanging out - I'd freeze to death, particularly if I was on a snowboard and had to sit down and fiddle with my bindings all the time.*

* I can board as well as ski in case you think I'm prejudiced ;)

My friend was mortified when out shopping with her 82 year old mother, who pulled a lad's trousers up for him and told him he'd 'catch his death of cold!' .

I wonder if she was related to the little old lady who poked at my (only a little bit) bare back when I was bending over to take something off a low shelf in Marks the other month. "You'll catch your death," she told me. I don't think I was showing my knickers though!

DS has shorts that come down and show his undies but his jeans are thankfully hitched up.

I remember it being explained to me a while ago. Apparently, in the US, police in less salubrious areas such as the Bronx used to remove the belt from someone they arrested since it's difficult to run quickly with one hand holding your trousers. That gave rise to the fashion in question - theoretically a statement of solidarity with the gang members.

Of course, nowadays a teenager is not displaying solidarity so much as a spotty cheek, but it's the thought that counts. Allegedly.
