Janty
Well, the chicks are 6 weeks old on 8th December and I thought I'd post some pics. You don't have to say a word. I am fully aware that the Janty curse has struck three times. My only problem is that one of them is a real sweetie and it will be tough parting with him. He is the chick in the first photo. Janty
Hi Janty, how old are they now? My girls are 9 weeks tomorrow - yes both girls, when I so desperately wanted a boy to hatch! They are divine, do you have any up to date pics? Emma.x Hello, I haven't been on much lately due to some family problems. My poor lad has been suffering some pretty horrendous bullying at school. Consequently, I have only just seen your post. The babies are ten weeks old now and absolutely gorgeous. I am still trying to find good homes for two of them. I haven't got up to date photos at the moment but I will take some at the weekend and post them on the forum. I now let them out in the garden with the cochins who don't give them any hassle at all. I call 'babies' and they come running. It's so sweet. Having said that, the cochins were scared off by a robin last week so they are a bit woosey. Janty
Next update... The boys are all grown up and two went to live with in-laws. I was talking to a breeder near Bury St Edmunds and I mentioned that I was looking for some girls to go with the boys. He asked if he could look at the boys as he needed unrelated cockerels. I took them today and he loved them. He has swapped them for two silver partridge pekin girls and two more pekins may have fallen into the cat basket by accident . He had a stunning pekin but she wasn't for sale...a buff columbian crossed with a silver partridge. I've asked if he could call me if he hatches any more of them. I've just had to break the news to the in-laws that neither cockerel was coming back to them.
