hillfamily
.......... Mark 2 eglu should I get I have decided that I can extend the woodchip area ( the lawn has died again this year so I can steal a bit of the space) and fit on a second eglu The girls will move into the Mark 2 and then I can get some (as yet an undefined amount ) rescued ex batts for the Mark 1 By the way, we have a Mark 1 and a rablu so we need to colour coordinate. Can't make decisions at the mo - it hurts my head

Sheilaz
I dreaded this thread when I saw the question, we've had some indecisive ramblings for pages on this type of question! But, obviously.... !! PURPLE!! Although, I'd keep the 3 in the mark 1 and fit an extra battery in the mark 2! Looking forward to hearing the next stage. PURPLE! Oh c'mon - someone had to say it ! A xx well there is a large patch of glittery pink paint to see if I like it enough to take the plunge and paint the whole kitchen glittery pink - not sure if it will go with the orange smeg
Mrs Frugal
Ollie had a stunning orange and purple growbag when he was a baby. The purple units and orange Smeg would be quite a fashion statement .
hillfamily
Although, I'd keep the 3 in the mark 1 and fit an extra battery in the mark 2! Looking forward to hearing the next stage. i was thinking along those lines but .............i was hoping that eventually when the ex batts had recovered and regained their strength after a few months they might integrate with my girls , living in the mark2 as it's bigger and ...............then i would have an empty mark 1 that would need new residents........... Sheilaz
Aha, but all the more reason to keep the ex batts in the mark 2, then, when they are strong, your original trio can join them. Still leaving an empty mark 1! PS. 2 mark ones, 6 hens.... ...I think I should get a couple more, don't you? I keep trying not to go above 6, but in the spring I might not be able to stop myself... hillfamily
Go for it the more the merrier My mum loves chicken keepers maths - lose 1 chicken add 2 more (because they integrate better in pairs )
Sheilaz
...and I wondered, if I got a couple more whitestars, perhaps OH would never notice, he'd just think the original was moving around a lot, popping up in 3 places?

I like it. I'm making notes of all these cunning plans. My first will be that I've allocated a chicken to each of my two boys (I'm only allowed to get two). I doooo need another so my youngest doesnt feel left out.
