Have to laugh at JJ's dad - I seem to remember that happening in our family too. The best trick on Ciaran was when they used to like tinned fruit coctail. He liked the peaches, so Murray gave him a special peach square when he served up. Ciaran chomped at it and then said "that's swede!". Although he likes swede in the pasty mixture that I do, so it wasn't all gag and retch!

 

I think the Eggy Babes want the cube - took them out for a cuddle, first Kitty and Mini. Kitty complained bitterly until Mini pecked her. Then the well behaved ladies Skye and Mercedes. But what a rotten rainy day. Not much better today, just not as heavy - but soooo dark. Of course now we will read that Debs is sunning herself in the warm SFS weather!

They were sold as 2 ducks and as soon as I got them I knew he was a drake but my friends said they were sexed at the farm

2 ducks would be good, more eggs and sometimes the drakes can be a bit 'too much' in the mating season but apparently if they've always been together it will be a lot better

The Babes have been quite vociferous again, so Murray made a little extension to the run open to the elements. 3 girls came out, pecked around while Mercedes complained bitterly from under the covers. I put down some mealworms because the big girls came to investigate (Tipsy was too busy in the veggie patch) and Skye and Apache were beak to beak happily chomping the worms. The other 2 banteenies went back to join Miss Gobby. Then Sioux starts up. As it was heavy rain they decided to go in the cube run - not so Tipsy. She eventually decided that the rain was too much so ran into the greenhouse. "Ooops, word censored!"ody else in there - PANIC!!!!!!!! Yells and then everyone starts up again. Garghhhh! All quiet on the western front at the moment - touch wood and whistle (now to find a rabbit foot).

Just been out to the shopw avec ma famille

 

I ordered some new headphones whenever I said it (27th?) and they came today my bargain touch light switch came aswell Everything was in Japanese but I guessed right and it works

Its really wierd because you turn it on ... comes on - turn it off ... lights go off after a minute so you have time to get into bed/out the room with the lights still on!

 

Ducklings ... don't tell father ... but if she goes broody it would be rude not to let her sit on them, or I haven't used my incubator for over a year

Took mum home today and put in her new daylight lamp so that she can see better - the 60watt and the eco ones aren't bright enough. I thought there was a car alarm going off out the front, but no it was us! I managed to set off her fire alarm while turning off the fuse box instead of the light section - because the lampshade refused to come off easily and the wiring came apart. She's well impressed with my electrical know how - er after it was all working properly again.

Ooh Lewis - you'll have to do a presentation for your dad - don't forget to draw a layout of the designated area and photoshop to show him how fab it will be and strategically placed shrubs for shading the birds and screening for him.

Just been for a paddle in the paddy field. No kidding it is all under water down there. Fortunately the cube run is nice and dry and because the eglu is on a slope they are OK for the time being. Hope it stops soon because even the raised beds now have a pond in the middle of them.

If you lived here Lewis you would have to order an ARK and not a WIR!

I've planned it all, got 5 quotes from all over all the different sizes, printed off all the photos from the WIR inspiration thread + its all marked out with bamboo at the top of the garden and everything!

 

I just asked and he said fine so I have ordered it to be delivered

Hello everyone Anyone got any ear plugs??! I've just phoned Mum to finalise details for tomorrow night, my Auntie Deb is coming to and staying at my parents. She doesn't do anything quietly and gets noiser and noiser the more drink she has had Looks like i could be in for a noisy but fun new year! DH went off today to hire a dinner suit as his jacket was a bit snug and we've now found out it doesn't have to be dinner suits, typical huh! He even has a new bow tie to match my dress. The fact i'm going to be wearing a dress is a miracle in itself I don't do dresses! I'll try and get some pics for you all
