Valkyrie
Morning peepsies. All quiet on the western front - I've managed to have a warm cup of coffee and brekkers without running down the garden. We have snow, not a lot, just a dusting. It's all sparkly pretty at the moment. The lights on my fireplace have broken. Pooh. I love the white fairy lights on it. Had an early night last night - I did a Debs! I think I needed to catch up because I had nearly 10 hours sleep! Wouldn't mind a few more zzzzzzzzzzz's though. I expect the e-bay price will go up nearer the final hour???? What would your dad say?!
ClaireG
Hello crazyees The new years eve do went really well The casino was great fun, we were given £20 of fake money to bet with and could buy more if we wanted. They had a roulette table and a black jack table and there were prizes for the top 3 who made the most money. I was doing quite well until i blew it all on my last blackjack hand My Auntie caused a lot of hilarity and some dodgy pics as she wore nipple tassels, luckily on the outside of her outfit I also got as i used to work as a nanny for a family in my parents village. The boy is now in his 20s and fairly dishy, he insisted on giving me a new years kiss!!
Valkyrie
@ your auntie. Got a bit of a hot flush then did you? Sounds fun - bit better than clearing out your bedroom like we did - Murray's been to the dump this morning with a load of rubbish.

Space Chick
Afternoon all. Just got back in to heathrow and am on my bus back home. However how we'll get home I don't know as we have thick snow and so FIL can't get out to fetch us, so we will have to see if a taxi is prepared to take us. Gosh overnight long haul flights take it out of you. The respect I have for Christian doing that for a living is immense. See you later, oh and Koojie. I did a me on new years eve. Couldn't make midnight so missed the 20 minute firework display.
Valkyrie
Oh no, poor you. Although I was in bed with the lights out when the fireworks started - then in came Erin and jumped on me - good job I have hips with padding - it was very ooooowwwww even so! She then made a nuisance of herself, pretended to go out of the door - but our eyes were so well adjusted to the dark we could see what she was up to. Including a peculiar dance. From heat to cold - we had similar one Florida Christmas trip, we left it in the 90degrees and came back to snow and ice - and our pilot light in the boiler had gone out. The neighbour's only noticed because our goldfish was at the bottom of her tank and not eating food - also it felt chilly. All the pipes had frozen, so they called in the plumber - luckily all sorted before we came home - apart from the bill! Anyway welcome home Debs. Been shopping for clothes and got a free zippy hoodie from Topman I picked up 2, went to the till and was only charged for one Walked out and nothing happened ... there were no tags or a price tag on it, so must mean it was free! Lewis
Welcome home *waves* Lewis is rather annoyed Went to B&Q with father to get the slabs, plastic roof, guttering, screws and fixing for the WIR - bearing in mind me + mother went earlier but he had to be there to order it all? We got there and looked at slabs ... I'm not having my garden slabbed 15x6 - ok we are, next you don't need a roof on it - er we're having a roof, next you can't screw it together like that (everyone else and the person that built it does), you don't have a list, we'll sit down and plan it all out - I've been saying this for months, its being delievered on Thursday! Now he's moaning its smaller than the old run!!! and that it should be concreted if it needs to be done for Thurs. I've showed him atsw's photos of the roof Sorry to moan Can't wait for all these America photos now!! Edited January 2, 2010 by Guest
Space Chick
Thanks Lewis, although I am going to need to be on the phone to my credit card company tomorrow. I will NEVER stay in the Venetian ever again!!!!!!!! They messed up our room booking when we arrived, it was a load of stress and hassle to get sorted, and now I have looked at my credit card statement online, and they have charged over £200 on my card - I didn't spend anything there and certainly haven't signed for anything
Lewis
What a shame to ruin the holiday, especially all the money I'm sure it cost you! Hopefully they can get it sorted
Space Chick
It'll be sorted. I won't let things like that ruin things though, as we had a great time (mostly!) and I have eaten in 5 different Michelin starred restaurants, so that can't be bad. In fact we were away for 7 nights (not counting the one in the air ) and we "ate Michelin" for 6 of them (went to one restaurant twice). I have had some amazing food and some brilliant service

Valkyrie
Glad to hear you had a good time in spite of one hotel (go girl go). This morning girls are good - apart from Squirt going to lay in the cube, rushing out and making a racket. Went down to find it was tapping - looked inside and found nothing, so I think it's the plastic expanding while the sun is on it! She was quite happy and went in after my inspection. Not "Beware of the Chickens" Lewis???????
