Does anybody feel ..... Part # 12

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the summary Scramble. It's trying to snow here we just had a load of BIG flakes, but they've stopped again, Dan's not back in school until tomorrow. We had a text from the in-laws first thing this morning saying they've got more snow than ever in Harrogate and Skipton Rd (the main road) is chaos. My S-I-L's husband couldn't even get out of the village and the school's closed.

I am bored bored bored eating a pot noodle of all things as that is all I fancied. I cannot carry anything back from the kitchen so had to wait for hubs to come home at lunch before I could have that. I did however make myself a flask of coffee this morning which is beside me on the sofa.

SOS SOS SOS I am bored. I need glitter and glue and 3/4 year olds running around me, this seems all wrong! bah humbug I never thought I would miss work so much.

Snow

Absolutly throwing it down here...there's tons of it.

Wasn't so bad this morning, only a little sprinkling...go to school and snows all day getting really heavy...some of the bus companies didnt want to be out on the roads so they picked people up early...not me though, I walk :lol:

You do not want to be a girl walking home in the snow....every boy within a 5 mile radius wants to throw snow balls at you

If it keeps it up school may be closed toorrow

Well, there's my snow update...off to read the pages

But I can say; Griffin , your hair is lovely! :D

That looks fab Griffin. Who is it in the photo on your Avatar and your signature?

Eric from True Blood :D

Someone slap me, I'm feeling broody for more Silkies  I blame Nymphadora. I've been in the garden cuddling her. I know in my head that she is a he but like all Silkies she's just a cuddle monster. She's very slow maturing, must be about 24 weeks now, but I'll be gutted to have to lose her. I pray I'm wrong and she's just got a big comb for a girl

Like the new hair 8)

School told us at 1 to go to form at 1.30 to phone our moms then we can go ... fat chance  Walked home then phoned mother who was on the way back from work then we went to Costco

Our neighbour has a Simple Human bin and loves it so now we have one ... at least it has half for recycling so father won't carry on throwing the plastic in the normal bin

Also got 2 tub trugs for £7something, so have used one as a pond for the ducks :D

We now have enough park-baked bread and pittas to last us if we get snowed in

Its really tall so they needed a couple of steps to get in ... Gerald got in and was splashing about but Jemima couldn't so was in the blue one quacking away then half flew out in disgust and treid the red one again and worked :D

Have some new photos of the chooks too :)

Wow, your hair looks fantastic Griffin :D Poor old Adam isn't well again. He came out of school saying he'd just been sick and his teacher told him to stay at home tomorrow. He's ben getiing headaches and has said his vision has been blurry a couple of times so i'm wondering if he's starting to get migraines.

Just been putting Vaseline on the girls combs, as they have forecast -12 for here tonight

It was a 2 person job, and you swear they thought we were trying to kill them  Romana was first, as she is always after being picked up, but when we started rubbing in the Vaseline she shouted a bit as obviously was not expecting that  Of course, the other girls decided that they did not want that themselves, and would make a mad dash whenever we got near them, or hid under the mezzanine level  They are too clever for their own good :D

We started with Phil as picker-upper, me with rubber-in but swapped very quickly as Phil was getting rather frustrated at trying to catch them :notalk:

do they LOVE glitter??? if so then I am very happy to house them for a while...lololololol ;) they could jazz up this ski boot I have to wear (I wouldn't let Koojie at it)

Oh that's so snot fair. I wanted to play drawings on your bootie.8.gif

Grifflewiffle your hair is fab.

Left Murray in charge of the girls. Apparently the little ones made such a racket that he let them out. Then he went back to working. When he next checked Kitty was missing and he looked everywhere. Finally he looked in the nesting box to find a very stroppy Kitty telling him off for disturbing her! He quickly replaced the door. So I won't have to put dye on their bums - it's her eggs.

Shopping done, eggs given to mum along with some mealworms for her blackbirds and robins, garden centred for more mealworms, cleaned out cube and eglu. Big girls frightened of little ones and stay up near the house while the little ones have taken over the clubhouse. But no fighting today that I know of and no feathers, fur or blood to be seen. Kitty wanted the big girls tea when I put them away this evening, but she was happy that she got the same when I carried her back. Covered up all remaining gaps in the runs so that the snow doesn't drift in, and the snow just started as I was finishing up. All set for the big freeze. Ciaran is in, Erin's home (and been told that if she can get in to college - fine, but if she can't - not a problem), and Murray not going anywhere. Mum's leak is definitely sorted, so she will be fine and cosy.

OK enough waffling. I must do some tea. Chicken stir-fry with lemon sauce and oodles of noodles.

I like the sign :D

Chickens look cute in the snow...especially Pox

Just had the third call from Chichi.

He works in Liverpool, and because of the bad snow there his work closed early...so he left at 3:30...he normally goes over the runcorn bridge..but it got closed because of a jack knifed lorry...and the tunnels are closed, as is Birkenhead to through traffic...so he had to wait for the bridge to re-open before he could get home.

They moved the lorry and apparently things are moving slowly now although cars are breaking down because of overheating engines for waiting so long.

It takes him 35 minutes on a good day after the bridge so who knows when he'll be home now.

He also has to get up the hill here which is also covered in snow.

Fun

I hope Chichi gets home safely too. It took Murray 7 hours last time.

Ciaran now off to his GF's in Fareham - luckily the trains haven't had the wrong sort of snow this year and he has been able to travel fine - apart from slippy sliding on the paths. You younguns dooooo worry us olduns. Big flakes falling heavily now and I can't see the path in relation to the drive - grass is still sticking out though. Poo I'm fed up with this now. 3 times this year we've had problems and now for the 4th.

Nice piccies Lewis. Love the sign - should be in the Omlet calender for next year.

My girls had baked potato (well it was sold as a baking potato, only I boiled it), chopped it, added peas, mixed corn, bokashi and some cod liver oil. Now doesn't that make your tea sound much nicer.

Hope Chichi gets home OK JJ - I hate driving in the snow :(

Your tea sounds lovely Koojie  I messed up ours tonight  I am blaming the jetlag, we had sausage meatball pasta in a brandy cream sauce, but the meatballs were underdone (OK raw in the middle  ) so I had to re-do them and put the pasta in the oven. I also forgot to do the asparagus to go with it  Michelin starred it wasn't
