Does anybody feel ..... Part # 12

Recommended Posts

Did a roast the other day - forgot the leeks in the microwave. Still we had a Spanish omlette the following day and used them in that instead.

Yesterday Erin had a Quorn fillet, so I put some sauce on it, heated it in the microwave - fine, turned it over as per instructions, another 2 minutes and the whole lot burnt to a crisp! Bah humbug! Had to do her another but didn't use any more sauce and it was fine. The rest of us had scampi and everyone had home made chunky chips with the skins on.

Hmmmm sounds like your dinner would have been nice!

At the moment I'm waiting for her ladyship's Quorn chunks to defrost so that I can do her batter bits first - then the chicken. Vegetarians. Now I'm going to duck before any other vegetarians wallop me.

Another call from Chichi;

he's at the bottom of the hill about 15 minutes walk away. Police are stopping anyone from driving up here, so he's had to park the car in the social club and is walking up...I'm just glad he took his thick coat to work

Stupid that they haven't and aren't gritting the roads.

He must have been in the same queues as Poet's, Ian :?

Glad he's nearly back though!

Our road is quite a main road into town and is really bad ... worse than February, but we haven't had gritters yet ... hopefully we won't have any overnight so we don't have school

Just bought a new touch light switch :anxious: the other one goes off after a minute :lol: ... only £4 though :D

I was going to try and do tempura batter - but improvised instead with one Kitty egg, plain flour, rice flour, baking powder, bicarb and some cornflour (which is more like cornmeal - yellow), mixed with water.

The quorn was rice floured, battered, then deep fried and put in a dish with some kitchen roll to drain - Erin was eating it before I'd finished. Then I did the chicken the same - using a different dish so that madam would be happy.

Then onion, red pepper, mini corn, sugar snap peas and mushrooms fried (noodles in a saucepan) then when it looked almost done, emptied some veg into another frying pan and added the quorn bits, while I added the chicken to the remaining pan. Add noodles to each pan, lemony sauce over the top, stir around and serve. Had the thumbs up. :D:drool:

9.5cm's - Erin just went and measured and bugging me because she's chatting to her fwend. He's rather cute really.

Cycled home today, with caution (due to ice, coldness etc). My mum got home, and asked my sister if I was home yet, she said I was. I asked her why and she had drove home passing an accident, 2 police cars and ambulance where there, and it was involving a cyclist

Hey guys :)

Snowing heavy now and seems to be getting heavy by the minute  2-4 inches now.

Slipped over on the way home, crutches, bag and me went flying  landed on my bum though so no harm done to my knee, phew

Stay safe guys :D

Ahhhh Fred - your mum loves you.

Ooh Tom - close one.

6 inches here and falling heavily - no let up at all.

Lewis it is called Peking Lemon made by Blue Dragon - they come in sachets, but next time I think I will make my own - should be fairly easy - cornflour, water and lots of lemon. They do lots of different flavours - their hoisin one is better than Sharwoods and a bit more like in the restaurants.

Good morning :)

Chichi got home alright but school's been closed this morning...back to bed I think.

Mum is going to try and take Chichi to his car...I can just see both my parents stuck at the bottom of the hill with both their cars.

Reminds me, when he got in he said the houses all up the road had been offering hot drinks to the walkers...made me smile. :)

Night again

We've got a Snow Day! Danny's slowly driving me mad, he wants to go out for a snowball fight. I need to walk up the shops for milk and meat for tea, just spoken to my parents and told them we'll call in for a cuppa. Their garden will be better for making snowmen - no chicken poo! They don't want me going out though in case I fall over, but I can't face staying in all day.

We have a big mound at the side of the driveway - Murray came in saying "ERK - it's gone over the top of my boots!" It's just begging for a snowman to be made out of it. Some places near mum's house still had the remnants of their snowmen yesterday - they've got a head start again. Still no satellite link here.

we've had a fun day in the snow, and my friend's just told me that it's already been decided the school will be closed again tomorrow. The girls wouldn't come out of their run earlier so I shut the door on them again and went back in.

Here's Danny and our snowman
