Ygerna
Armed Forces have been advised that the BFPO facilities in mainland europe will be shut from September 2010. Personnel, and their families, deployed in europe currently enjoy the same postal rates as the UK. Withdrawal of this long established tradition will further erode personnel's ability to communicate with their families in the UK and safe receipt of parcels etc through a secure network. I feel strongly about this. My Father was in the Navy, my Brother was too, I have other members of my extended family who have been in the Armed Forces too. Post, letters and parcels from home are hugely important. If you too would like to sign the petition please go to.. http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/SaveBFPO/

patsylabrador
I signed for this a little while ago. With this government you know this is just the thin end of the wedge. They really know how to support their army that they use so much.

C&T
I'm not from a forces family - but even I can appreciate how important this is! Months from home - especially when this coincides with Christmas or Birthdays etc - a parcel from loved ones must be so welcome. I have signed... Charlottechicken
I am not from a forces family either, although my dad did National Service in the 50's, and I have signed. Cannot believe the penny pinching the forces are having to put up with, especially as they are willing to ulimately lay down their lives for Queen and country, would any politician do that? Looney
I come from a forces family and I remember writing to my dad when he was away during the Gulf war in the early 90s. I could write to him about whatever I wanted, or just draw him a picture, and pop the it in the post without having to think about the postage cost. Needless to say, I've signed. chickweed
I've signed too. I'm a forces child like some of you. We were in Germany in the early 50's. I can't believe the government would do this just to save a bit of money.
Eggquisite
It's a disgrace, the Government should be ashamed Suffice to say all signed up...
Angels4
I tried to sign, but wasn't allowed because I'm not a resident. I do believe that the troops should be able to get news/packages from home.
