A lovely walk

Recommended Posts

This afternoon, hubby & myself have walked along the old railway line, up into the village & to the farm shop. It was a lovely frosty day with the sun shining. Wrapped up warm in our hats & gloves with our cheeks tingling felt wonderful.

We had cuppas & lunch at the farm shop & bought our veggies for our soup, then walked back.

Nice to see all the dog walkers & families out on their new Xmas bikes.

We also noticed a huge hall / palace type house literally 5 minutes from our house. How come we have never noticed it before? :? Hubby took a photo , so I'll post it up later.

Anyone else been out walking on such a nice day?

We have just had Mulled wine & are roasting some chestnuts on the fire. 8)

We have - I had a lovely Birthday walk in some local hills - Burton Dassett Country Park, We took both dogs and were joined by my family.....daughter, son in law, two grandchildren and son.......and had a pub lunch.

It was a lovely frosty and sunny day - we're back now, dogs both showered and drying in front of the wood burner :D

Not today, but on Saturday and Sunday we had a couple of really nice walks.

It is a lovely time of year, and gives you a completely different perspective on familiar landscapes. I'm really hoping for a bit of snow so I can take some wintry landscape photos. I was given a lovely tripod for my birthday and haven't really had the time to use it properly, so I'm looking forward to getting out and taking more photos over the next few days. It will be good to take photos that are not of chickens for a change :)

Now back in Oxfordshire & not planning to drive anywhere else for a few days :D but

I'm sure we'll be off for a few more walks over the next few days :shock:

Lucky you, I have been stuck inside since Christmas eve with a poorly little boy, eldest two have been out on their bikes today, hopefully YS will be feeling better tomorrow so that we can wrap up warm and go for a (short) walk.

Oh dear :( , hope your YS is feeling better tomorrow.. sounds like you'll need to wrap up warm if the bad weather prediction is correct

You were most likely seeing the back of Abbey Fields, a lovely old country house converted into flats. Access is a discreet car track between houses in Park Lane. It can't be seen from the road.

I do this walk quite often too.

:notalk: Not fair - where was this, how come you did not ask me, OH took the boys to watch Macc Town beat Crewe so I was alone all afternoon :shameonu:

 Glad you had a nice time - maybe you just stopped to "look" more and the house/palace was not obscured by trees/leaves at this time of year.

I am impressed that Macc won!!!

We walked on boxing day up to white nancy -the hard way!! Then walked all the way back to macc on the canal path (how we didn't fall in I will never know),then down the middlewood way. It was a lovely day,but incredibly slippy.

Rosie and I take a long walk every day with the hound, yesterday we walked up Crouch Hill - a lovely walk on the outskirts of Banbury, less than a mile from the house, big fields for Ruby to race around in and great views from the trig point at the top. Off the other side of the hill, you can meet up with the Salt Way (ancient trade route) and walk miles in both directions.

There are so many lovely walks on our doorstep.
