Doctor Who

Recommended Posts

I enjoyed it,although they did drag it out somewhat.

Kept shouting 'change already' at the TV, & DT looked so pained I did wonder if he had copped an unfortunate prawn.

I did like the revisiting of the old friends (what is up with Billies face? - it didn't even look like her!), & I liked that Russell Tovey could possibly be joining Torchwood, maybe 8)

I like the look of the new Doc,but don't they generally arrive in their new clothes look - he was wearing DTs outfit still, which was a bit of a shame :?

He has that alienesque look about him...............................

Not really a massive fan (bring back Tom Baker!) but had to watch and did shed a tear even though I didn't understand it all. Knew I missed the ex-boyfriend for something (massive Who-vian).

So, some basic questions I hope you can help with :

The lady at the book signing - who was her gran? Kylie?

And did Billie meet the Dr in 2005?

Thank you...

Cathy, the book signing lady was the grandaughter (?) of the teacher the Dr married when he was human and his Timelord bit was in his fob watch - he was hiding from someone who could sense timelords. It was the one with the scarey scarecrows. And yes Billie duid meet the Dr in 2005.

I thought it was fab - loved David Tennant as the doctor and thought Wilf was a fab final companion for him. Watched "Confidential" later and shed even more tears the second time round. :( But having seen a trailer for 2010 including the new Dr I did admit he looked quite fun in a non-David Tennant sort of way :D

A really good last episode. Slightly drawn out at the end, and thought I was going to embarrass myself in front of the family with a few sobs, but didn't. I will miss DT but I think Matt Smith is going to be really good. Very quirky and every so slightly DT-esque. Not as good looking though.

Same here... and mind you, I sobbed my heart out with every other Dr Who episode (or nearly all) since the middle of the Eccleston series...

I expected to be overwhelmed but wasn't, I think this one was too 'milked', so much of 'the doctor will die' when we know he won't...

This being said, I like the way they give some lines of the last series to the actor rather than the character... Eccleson ended with 'I was fantastic'... and he was right... DT is ending with a lot of 'am dying and don't want to', as if he wants to go but really feels it's been a big part of his career... I like the 'I don't want to go' line at the end, feels like he's sorry to leave the part but has to move on...

Enjoyed it thoroughly though... I LOVED David Tennant, said I wouldn't never watch again when Eccleston left and within two episodes got totally taken by DT... so will keep open mind about the next guy... he does look a bit young to be carrying the Doctor's history...

Jayne, I'm with you- I LOVE DT and thought the fact that Wilf was the key in such a small, personal way, was absolutely fantastic. I too cried more at the COnfidential, especially when DT himself lost it when saying goodbye.

But Matt Smith will be fab I'm sure - he's a great actor and wonderful looking for the role... bring on the Spring :D

Anyone any ideas who was the Time lord(well, lady) to the right of Timothy Dalton as we looked? What was her significance? There were two of them who had to go and keep their eyes covered but she dropped her hands and was crying. There must be more to it, as usual with Russel T Davis! We discounted it being Rose but thought maybe Donna? (nah) or then maybe the Dr`s own mother???

Any guesses???

I cried buckets. It was inevitable.

Having watched every single episode of Dr. Who from William Hartnell's very first episode, David was the best Doctor ever IMHO. I will give Matt Smith a fair go though. Can't stop watching just because I'm griefstricken.

I had a moment of hope at the end where I thought it all might be a hoax that he was leaving, but it was not to be. :(

Can't wait for the return of the weeping angels. They are the scariest monsters ever!

I thought she was the Doctors mother too. Don't know who the other one was though.

Yes, we thought she was the Doctor's mother too - no doubt that will be used in a future episode as it has been left open as to where the Time Lords have gone, and whether or not The Master is also still alive.

I don't watch Dr Who, I'm not a fan but I've enjoyed the last few episodes, even though i didn't really have a clue what was going on! When he said "I don't want to go" I felt bereft, how sad was that! :(

BTW, was DT matchmaking btwn Cap'n Jack and Alonso? I didn't get what was going on there (not being a follower and all that).

I assumed that woman was his mum too.

Did he go back in time and get a quid off Donna's dad and then forward to get the lottery numbers and then back to give Donna the ticket? Wasn't sure what was going on there either!

Sinead Keenan was good as that green monster, I like her in being human too.

p.s. The Ood set me off with their "the universe will sing you to sleep" or whatever they said!
