chick wiggle
Oh Cookie, as soon as I read your post subject I thought, 'Oh no, whats she done now?' Awww, you poor thing. how on earth you gonna manage with your crutches! How painful is your shoulder,? is it worth getting the doc to have a look? Aww, I feel so sorry for you now Chin up Hon, surely it cant get any worse , Oh dear I shouldnt say that should I ?
Cooks
no you shouldn't say that I dont really know how bad it is other than I cant move my arm above the elbow area otherwise I scream. My hands hurt where I tried to grab the door frame to steady myself and I have a thick head I am currently wedged up against some pillows I tell you I am a danger to myself! This is the second time I've slipped over, first time not so bad. I have no idea how I can walk on crutches... well the answer is basically I can't.. not at this present time. ANH a chamber pot??? seriously??? me???? errrm I freaked out at the hospital when I had my op when they suggested a similar experience, I think not.. I will see how it is tomorrow, it's been whacked so it will hurt, it's probably just bruised and I will feel a total numb skull going back there saying I fell over! Chook n Boo Mum
Oh Cookie you are a noodle Are any of your neighbours medical bods you could call on to have a look for you? I know it's the sort of thing which is "frowned upon" in normal circumstances, but being on crutches already & the current weather conditions, maybe you could be forgiven for asking At least I think a call to your GP would be in order.......or a trip to A&E if the roads aren't too horrendous between you & the nearest hospital if DH is around to drive you of course. I'd say (in my non-medical opinion ) that you have done something nasty if you can't move the arm without screaming pain Sending you huge painkilling {{{hugs}}} Sha x

Cooks
well if its no better tomorrow (allowing time for bruising to come out) I will get to a&e or the docs but seriously they already have my card marked!! I am sure they roll their eyes at me... I really dont want to think about me shoulder being injured more than a bad bruising, I dont think I would cope with that right now. oi Emma blooming laughing stock I am. *gentle*

bluekarin
Oh Cookie! Not a great way to start off a new year. I agree with everyone else that if you are in that much pain you should get it looked at pronto. Big hugs coming at you ((((hugs)))) When I broke my ankle, before the op, I was sent home with it in a temp back slab plaster . Being new to crutches I wasn't very good at them, so as soon as I got in the door, I moved forward too far and fell onto bad foot with all my body weight. OUCH! I still feel sick thinking about it. Anyway, the point I am getting to is, as I didn't get on with crutches in the beginning, I got and old lady zimmer frame for getting about in the house and for the many, many hospital trips. Once my ankle was better, ie it didn't hurt everytime I moved, I progressed to crutches and was okay. Maybe for just getting to the loo it might be worth asking about. ClaireG
Oh Cookie As well as taking painkillers do you have any arnica for the bruising? Also try and keep it as warm as you possibly can. Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight and please do get it looked at in the morning. Sending you lots of gentle healing hugs.
