chelsea
I heard the chicken talk today also. He brought in some eggs and was moaning about his non layers!
Saronne
I tried two mornings listening to Chris Evans, now I only have half an hour of listening, and I really gave him a chance, but his manic, high pitched voice really annoyed me (although I liked the music choice) so I have switched to the local station for now and will explore others when I get a moment to try them out. I prefer mellow and informative in the mornings. Ohh, same here. I thought I was the only one who felt Chris Evans had an irritating voice. I prefered Johnny Walker. Seagazer
I've never warmed to Johnny Walker, I don't know what it is about him. I love Ken Bruce though, he makes me chuckle and I'm quite enjoying Chris now.
chickencam
I find Ken Bruce a bit smug and patronising, whereas Johnny Walker always has a chuckle lurking just under the surface and he just sounds warm and fun. They don't stand a chance of pleasing us all do they I am finding Fern Britten quite a good alternative to the opinionated Jeremy Vine. AnnieP
I'm loving Chris, (and I was a huge Terry fan), but Chris is upbeat and fun. I only get to listen for my 20 min drive to work, but it makes me smile in that time, which can't be bad. Simon Mayo is dull dull dull, but who would want to take over the Drive Time show after Chris Evans? I will SO miss all request Fridays: They were fabulous adn accompanied me on my hour long start to the weekend drive. I can't stand commercial radio due to the adverts. Chris Evans has a blue eglu, by the way, with an extended run.
chickencam
Radio 2 is now the chicken station, Fern Britton was just talking about her chickens and their dislike of the snowy weather
chelsea
Still loving Chris I've sent a request in for Moira's golden oldies....hope they play it!
The Dogmother
I have abandoned morning radio all together now as I can't find anything I like. Half an hour's peace is fine by me.
chickencam
We are not great Tv watchers, but we have BBC Breakfast on in the kitchen in the morning, because it is the only dose of current affairs that ED gets all day. DS takes an interest in the news and reads papers at school, YD watches Newsround most days, but ED just isn't interested. If we have the radio on upstairs it is usually local BBC for traffic, weather etc.
The Dogmother
Unfortunately, all our local stations have commercials
welovemarmite
I have converted husband to chris evans, but turned the radio off now when simon mayo comes on. Am experimenting with Radio 4...
Mrs Webmuppet
I defected to Planet Rock (on DAB) some time ago .........their morning DJ is Alice Cooper ( yes, the Alice Cooper! ) They have all sorts of guest DJ's ............Joe Bonnamassa, Rick Wakeman, Gary Moore, Fish ( from Marillion) to name a few. Chicky
Mom has tuned int this when it started on the way to her work. She loved it when the "Kandiman" came on and apparently she just sat in the car park singing!!
sadietoo
I'm really enjoying his bright and breezy start to the day, and even my teenagers don't mind him on in the morning, whereas Tel was a definite no-no for them, although I loved the banter (but don't miss the TOG poetry at all!!). I have to say I'm surprised at myself as I didn't really like drive-time at all with him doing it...far too upbeat for me after a hard day at work...Simon Mayo is boring, but just about OK, and I tend to flip between him and Radio 4. Local Radio makes me want to scream, as do commercial stations with all those adverts to have my windscreen replaced!! As for the music...personally I find it ok..and a lot better than Sir Tel's relentless C & W !!
Space Chick
I am loving Chris in the morning. Particularly enjoying the "Wrong bongs"
Kirstine
I prefer mellow and informative in the mornings. Well, Tel wouldn't have suited you then, unless you only tuned in for the 'Ask Lynne' spot!

Chickendoodle
I'm loving the Chris Evans programme - I dip in and out - getting dressed and then on my short car journey to work. I am not a morning person and he makes me smile. Also, although I really liked Sir Tel, his voice was a little too mellow for the car and I found that I was getting irritated as I couldn't understand what he was saying! Not sure I could listen to the whole breakfast show as it is quite chirpy but is suits me as a dipper
Jules.
I'm loving the Chris Evans show I'm a recent radio listener since last August, as I used to go to work on the bus, but now I get to go in the car. Chris was good on the drivetime, & is great at breakfast too. I generally listen in from 7.50 to about 8.30, so get to hear the Head to Headlines & the Megaphonecall. Simon Mayo- what can I say? I remember him being ok to listen to in my Radio 1 days, but now I can't stand the way his voice goes up at the end as he asks his callers-in questions, & how he calls everyone " Sir"
jlo
It would be interesting to see how their figures are doing on Radio 2. I no longer listen to Drivetime but now tune in in the morning which I never did before! I listen to Five Live before 7 am and there are occasionally mentions of chickens on there too as one listener who texts in response to their quiz question often mentions sorting his chickens out. Anyone here??
