lisaroo2
... a themed birthday party? In a couple of months I'll be 37 and have decided to have a birthday party. OH comes from a big family and they always have a birthday for whose ever birthday it is, usually hosted by one of his sisters. I've never had one! My two parents aren't that way inclined so I've decided to organise my own!!! I saw a Hello Kitty birthday cake in Morrisons and thought brill! I like HK and have a wonderful machine that can cut out all sorts of wonderful HK pics. I thought about making table decs with the theme and maybe some 'goodie' bags for the guests to take home. But am I too old for the HK bit? We have two cats so it would fit as far as they go, maybe I could make HK look like them? I don't mean to go over the top, just some bits and pieces here and there. What do you think?? Edited February 17, 2010 by Guest

jlo
I love the birthday card that has the quote on it that says, "I believe in loyalty. When a woman reaches an age she likes, she should stick with it." Personally I am still 24 which would certainly not be too old for a themed party....so pick an age and go with it! The Dogmother
Nope, I agree. Go for it! I had a surprise themed party for my 40th; The Boy and my best friend organised it, everyone had to wear black and Phil bought me the most gorgeous red flamenco-style dress. Great night Nearly my 50th now, so that'll be a biggy.
lisaroo2
Hi All Thanks for the support! OH cringed and then laughed when I told him what I was planning, but helped me to make some HK 's last night. He reckons his parents will laugh when they come to the house and see the decs, they know his wife is mad!!! That fact was re-affirmed last year when I walked down the aisle with an owl on my arm!!! henriette
Am a bit late with this, but it is absolutely the right thing you are doing! Life is far too short to be bothering about if you are to old to do something. Believe me Apart from the fact that I love Hello Kitty. My girls all had HK when they were little and and at 36 and 38 they still do!

craftyhunnypie
Hi - just a quick note. I was in my One stop shop today & noticed a Hello Kitty magazine thing called Hello Kitty Party. It looked to have HK paper plates with it. I din't think to pick it up & look at the price - but it may be worth looking round for it. I think it's great what you are doing - a woman of my own insanity! Emma.x
