Everything is so much clearer now!

Recommended Posts

Since I had to have glasses (last January) I have been a reluctant user - only putting them on at home when I was reading a book with exceptionally small print etc, well I have found that my eyesight has been slowly getting worse to the point that today at work I got caught in the act of using a magnifying glass to read some text

So I am now swallowing my pride and can announce that as of tonight I am going to admit that I am now visually challanged and tomorrow am going to work armed with my specs!

p.s. Have just found that wearing them whilst browsing the forum means I can actually read properly what you lot are typing  - no more guessing for me !!!

I have worn specs since I was 2 (very unusual in the 1960's - I think I was the only child in primary school with them.)

I had the indignity of the round pink or blue national health specs and because I had a lazy eye I frequently had one lens covered with pink sticking plaster :( . Then developed a severe nickel allergy and had to have gold plated frames as there were no alternatives then - much to my Mum's financial horror

Wore contacts for 20 years or so from age 20 until my eyes could take them no more and have been a proud spec wearer since then. I can now get lovely titanium frames which are nickel free.

Wear your specs with pride :P

I'm another spec wearer. I've tried contacts a few times but they just dry out on my eyes. I got two new snazzy pairs of glasses last year which really makes a difference. Before that I had very plain ones but now I think, if I have to wear glasses I might as well wear standout glasses :D

I am a proud spec wearer too and have been since I was 18. I started working in a shop and realised that I couldn't read any of the signage.

I am now struggling with reading anything and have to take my glasses off to do any close work and even then I can't see it that well. I really need varifocals but keep putting off the inevitable.

I need my reading specs when I sew, but not to read, although at night I find instead of pulling the script closer, I'm pushing it further away. :? Otherwise I like my normal glasses so that I can see every little leaf in the distance - and then I can spot the deer, or the birds when we go walkabout etc. :D And of course - and more importantly - I can see to drive!
