docsquid
At last, some lovely sunshine today. I took the opportunity to give the Cube a really good clean and scrub, and the girls took their opportunity to sunbathe and have a mud-bath together. I then planted some wildflower seeds in seed trays in the shed and had quite an appreciative audience - obviously they will grow better if chickens have "helped" to plant them! Here are little Gwennie and Megan enjoying the sun and mud - Gwennie is the little one at the back, Megan at the front. They look so happy! Blodwyn wouldn't join the other two - but she is showing off her beautiful feathers in the sunshine instead.
Cooks
your Blodwyn looks very much like my Cocoa.. however she's not shy at all. Lovely girls, I love to see mine basking in the sun.
chickencam
It is lovely to watch them in the sun. I feel really sorry for my girls in the depths of winter, we have a small north facing back garden and it doesn't get any sun at all on the shortest days and not until now does it get even a third of the way up the lawn. I am just off to let mine have a play

Valkyrie
You have dry soil! Ours is so bleh and muddy - we need some dry days and some wind to dry our clay stuff out. Can't even take the cover off their dust bath because it's just been so wet here. But beautiful girlies - I love it when they get so engrossed and then stop in a daze. Lavenders_Blue
I am also very jealous of your dry soil. It's squelchy yucky muddy on our clay too. I can't see how it's ever going to dry out unless we have a serious heatwave this summer. Yours girls seem to be having a blissful time in the sunshine

The wall right by the house always seems to keep quite dry - just a foot or two away it is seriously muddy too. I think they're lovely girls! They did have a wonderful day today - out from 9.30am to 4.00pm, mugging everybody who came through the garden for treats!
Lewis
Looks like they've had a good day! The best bit is when they get up and shake all the dirt out their feathers
