docsquid
I went to a photographic show at the NEC today, and bought the two lenses for my camera I had been promising myself for a long time (and got a good price too!). One takes super close-ups (true 1:1 macro) and the other is a very long (500mm) lens for bird photography. Although it is cold and cloudy and rather dark, I couldn't resist a little try-out in the garden, so the obvious subject was my lovely chooks. Here are a few pictures of them close-up:- Beautiful Blodwyn, our Miss Pepperpot Dear little Gwennie. She is such a sweet little chicken. Megan - taken with the long lens from a distance. This is a bit blurred as she is pecking and I couldn't get a fast enough shutter speed. Megan's feathers, really close up. I had no choice - she wouldn't leave the camera alone! docsquid
lovely pictures ! Definitely worth investing in those lenses ! Thank you all for your kind words. The lenses were expensive. It has been a dream of mine since I started photographing things at the age of 13 to get such lenses, but I never had the opportunity until now. A canvas print of Meggie's feathers is a good idea! I love all my chooks, they are not posh chooks, but I love them to bits. Dear little Gwennie always has such a lovely expression on her face. She got over the Omlet fencing and into the garage today to "help" DH doing some welding! She is such a character.
