enjoyed the prog...good mix of interesting recipes and snippets of trivia :D

Plus, any tall girl who is married to a gorgeous shorter man is alright in my book! ;)

she is lovely, I've taken to her :D

I was surprised to learn her paternal grandad was Alfred P Dolittle!!! She comes from quite a prestigious background considering who her maternal grandfather was as well!

Did you see her on the one show earlier this evening? They showed an old clip of her appearing with Grandad Roahl when she was about 6 or 7. Pudding basin haircut and huge glasses - an unfortunate look at the best of times (she admitted herself) - what a difference! 8)

I didn't see it and the review in the paper wasn't very positive. I would imagine that you would feel quite conscious of other cooking celebrities watching especially if you've been referred to as the new nigella. I expect her confidence and character will grow. It sounds like a happy programme, to quote ' a flowery, girlie concoction of shopping and grandmothers' recipes.' I think that sounds nice, I shall watch it next week and I expect so will husband and sons!

I read that earlier. She really didn't like her did she :lol: The house was beautiful. Not quite sure why it's on the market as they seem to be making quite a bit of money from it for photo shoots etc.

I saw that article in the Mail too, what drew me to it was that it was a stock photo that I'd clipped myself last year when I was gathering images for my planned new kitchen.

I'm not shocked as I understand that they all usually use 'model' kitchens. I hadn't seen the TV programme, but recognised the photo immediately.

it's just that you think you're getting a little glimpse of their lifestyle and their taste in furnishings etc and it's a bit disappointing to find it's all a sham

Still, I'll get over it! I'm going to the Axminster RC canteen in June and might have a peep at the real RC while we're there, at least we know Hugh's kitchen is his real house!
