Ain't Nobody Here
Ultravox's Vienna must have been out in my first year at uni. We used to sing "This means nothing to me ...... Eeeeconomics" - must have seemed funny at the time . Wow, I remember The Bump - not heard that for a long time .

Ain't Nobody Here
Always amazes me how lyrics to songs you haven't heard for years and years are still in there as soon as you hear it again .
Lesley
Some great laughs there - I can just imagine Christian dancing along with his choice My favourites so far are also Hotel California and Vienna.

docsquid
My parents or my friends bought me my first records - parents bought the New Seekers album for me (nice safe stuff) and my friend bought me Gary Glitter Rock & Roll Parts 1 and 2 (more like it). My Dad's boss bought me Yes - Fragile - he was much more in tune with what I liked. The first record I bought for myself was Alice Cooper - School's Out The first CD I bought was Rumors - Fleetwood Mac The first download I bought was How You Remind Me - Nickelback I think I'm probably a bit of a "rocker" LOL

Lavenders_Blue
This was the first single I bought. According to Wikipedia it was released in 1984 which is a bit odd as I was 2 years old then Now either Wikipedia is wrong (surely not!) or it was re released later in the 80's. I reckon I was about 8/9 when I bought it.

Your son has excellent taste Lesley I have all of those, two on 12" I can't remember my first single There's a bit of confusion at the start of my record collection between some Bee Gees stuff, ELO's Turn to Stone and Nick Lowe cracking up. Then it descends into heavy metal
