Space Chick
A friend of mine does some shopping and cleaning for one of her elderly neighbours. They were talking one day and he was telling her about the chickens he used to keep when he was younger. She told him "My friend keeps chickens", so he asked would it be possible for him to come and see them. So he has just been around, and we have had a lovely natter about chooks. He used to keep Ancona's and Sussex when he was younger. He loved seeing my girls and getting to see the different coloured eggs. He asked if he could have a box from me next weekend as his grandson is coming over and would love to see different coloured eggs, so I have promised him a box. He was a lovely elderly gent, and he really appreciated the fact that both my friend and I were able to take some time out so he could see the girls. He had never seen a Silkie before, and thought big Suze was very unusual. He also couldn't get over the WIR and Eglu's as he's never seen anything like it "in his day", they never did introductions either, just chucked them in so couldn't get over that I had a separate area with 3 girls in What a lovely way for me to start the weekend, and has made me feel full of the joys of spring

Laura & CTB
Thats brilliant - I've met a few "old timers" that cant believe we keep chooks just as pets - and nearly fainted at the amount of money we spend on them

Chucky1
It doesn't take much to make someone's day, sometimes just a 'hello' will do. Nicely put Seagazer. Great story Debs. Funny though don't you find that "chicken people", old, new, young old, fat, thin, are generally nice people?
