The Dogmother
Does anyone else think that this is pants at getting dishes clean? I had resorted to keeping some Fairy Liquid in the cupboard to get rid of grease and dodgy stains, but i found this at Ryton the other day and it's fab. You can't order direct from their site, but it has links to suppliers and stockists. PLUS, it was only £1.65 for a ginormous bottle http://www.biodegradable.biz/products.html
Mel (& Paul)
We use Ecover - most of the stuff goes in the dishwasher so it does either wine glasses ( ) or the big pots and pans and we dont seem to have a problem and we have hard water too
Egluntyne
I get on all right with Ecover (and I like the smell of both varieties). Maybe it has something to do with the water, which is very "soft" in Sheffield. In fact only yesterday I cleaned on of the Eglus with it, and there were soooo many suds that it took ages to rinse them away. The hens were very bemused. The Dogmother
We have very hard water, but I've found that the Ecover washing up liquid isn't good at cleaning anything other than glases and plates; everything else needs neat Ecover on it to shift any grubby bits or grease. It's a shame because I love the smell of it. As soon as the bottle is finished, I shall stick with the Bio-D one (which I tested when I bought it)
chelsea
I love the smell too. We clean the eglu with it. Everything else goes in the dishwasher so I havent noticed on normal dishes really.
Guest
That's the liquid recommended in March's Organic Life Claret. Well done for spotting it! I haven't found a problem with Ecover, but I will probably be moving over to this, especially after your recommendation!
The Dogmother
I've just done some more washing up with Ecover and some of the things didn't come out very clean and I had to wash them again. I know I'm fussy, but I do like my washing up to be clean and grease free I use the Ecover stuff when I wash out the eglus and it's good for that. Lesley
I use Ecover for any hand washing up and have never had a problem - we have hard water. You'd better warn them at Ryton to stock up before the get-together
Helly Welly
I never had a problem with Ecover although i know use Clear Spring as i can get in bulk and its cheaper than Ecover.
PurpleHen
I haven't noticed a problem with Ecover - but the palce I buy it from does Bio D as well, so think I'll buy that next time to give it a go, thanks for the tip Clare Has anyone tried the Te**o alternative? I won't on principle
Christian
I've given up with ecover washing up liquid, back to fairy! Love the multi surface and toilet cleaner though! nice smell and it works.
Chickpea
We usually use Ecover and get on ok with it, but when we shop at The Organic Farm shop we usually get Bio D, cheaper and lasts longer!!

I won't on principle I've got some on the go at he moment as T*sc*'s had run out. Its OK but the smell is a bit synthetic and overpowering. I don't use fairy ...ever....apparently it is one of the most toxic substances known to man.....almost as bad as chocolate and alcohol! (just kidding!). This makes interesting reading.
